  • A Whole New Excuse!

I'm an emotional eater (and I am sure I am not alone, here), and I absolutely HATE cold weather; snow tops the list of things I hate most in this world. When 28 inches of the white stuff was dumped on Philadelphia on Saturday, followed by 15 MORE inches on Wednesday, I snapped. I was miserable, so I broke the rules (yet again; last time it was "the Christmas excuse.") White carbs, beer, wine, all leaped back into my life. I used to stop myself after one beer or one glass of wine. Last week, I was just getting started with "one."

I weighed myself today and I didn't gain anything significant (1.5 lbs.) For that, I am grateful (perhaps the calories spent while shoveling snow accounted for some of that), but I am, once again, upset with myself that I fell off the wagon yet again.

I kicked off this morning with a great workout (I actually jogged on the treadmill at 4.5 mph, instead of walking fast at 3 - 3.5 mph)

So here it is, the first day of the rest of my life. Current weight - 286.6 lbs.

Welcome back. Jeez we can be weak when it comes to food. I know I find myself talking myself into things. Why is that? Food just becomes so important - we look for it to solve all issues and do all things.
So I would suggest you think about what you can legally do to get over sore spots. For me that is usually whipped cream with a tiny big of 99% chocolate or cocoa - it can take me through some hard spots. So find out what legal indulgence you can have on hand that will take you through hard spots.

    And welcome back.

I like to illustrate it's that first one that gets me by remembering that it's the engine of the train that hits me first, not the caboose. I'm glad you made it back.
