  • Food Ideas- lets go people

I want ideas on quick snacks/meal ideas

    here is mine

3 steak umms- 300 calories 240 calories from fat
1 ounce cream cheese- 100 calories - 90 from fat

As I am cooking the Steak Umms I put the cream cheese in the center and make roll ups. I find this to be quick, induction friendly and very delicious indeed.

You could add some grilled onions and peppers and get those veggies in also. Yum

Devilled eggs: for a snack eat as is, for a light meal add a salad or some veggies to it.

I'm just starting my 2nd time on Atkins. The first 3 years ago was successful, but really hard for me, because I'm not a big veggie or meat eater. This time I'm hoping to broaden my choices.

I am loving the oopsie rolls! They really help with the deprivation mentality I can't shake sometimes when I have to look at all the carby food in my house.

I just discovered them a few days ago, so I've only made one batch and had them as sandwich-type fixings. A little mayo, and some bacon/ham/roast beef, a little cheese....pretty darned good. I've read that they can be made sweeter for shortcake type "bread", good with sf pudding and whipped cream, but I'm not far enough into this to try that yet.

For something sweet, I take a couple Tbsp of cream cheese, mixed with a packet of splenda and a pinch of cocoa, mush it all together-not bad either.

I also love going all out on big ol' salads. Since it's the most healthy thing I eat, I get the best greens I can find-no bagged iceberg junk.
          I make my own dressing-
Mayo, olive oil, salt, pepper, parmesan, garlic, vinegar, and a little worcesterchire.
Topped with ham, bacon bits, green onions, and some shredded cheddar.

For a snack, I cut tiny blocks of cheddar and eat with some slices of pepperoni.
3 years ago, I lost 60 pounds in 12 weeks on Atkins.
I have PCOS, which makes my weight REALLY sensitive to carb intake, and I've gained back most of it since going off plan.
          Restarting 02/07/10.

Vegetables are a huge part of the Atkins plan -- most of your daily carbs should be from vegetables. Variety is key to not becomming bored so branch out and find more vegetables other than cauliflower that you can eat.

When you make a salad use something other than iceberg lettuce, it's void of nutrition ... try fresh spinach or baby greens. Use radishes, celery, green onion, cucumber, broccoli -- whatever veggies you can cram in to give the salad more flavor. I love ranch dressing on my salads - I put it on the side in a small bowl and dip the salad into the dressing so each bite has dressing on it.

Avocado has good fat and tastes good on a salad, cut and rolled in turkey chicken or beef. Deviled eggs, string cheese (watch your cheese intake - 3oz max daily), celery with cream cheese or ham with cream cheese rolled up all make good snacks or quick meals. I also like taking Deluxe Deli Cheese Slices, cutting them into small squares putting them on parchment paper in the microwave for about a minute .... when they are done they make great cheese "crackers".

I also take left over roast beef and grind it, add mayo and sugar free pickle to make a meat spread for lunches...

              Oopsie rolls...Yummy.

I make mine with 3 egg whites and 2 yolks, 3 oz cream cheese, and a pinch of baking powder. I make about eight per batch and they are great to make snacks with (or even to add to meals). I had some today with herbbutter, great snack.
