My DH is a very sweet man... he opens doors, brings me coffee, modifies cooking to go with my WOE, just really dotes on me. But he doesn't know squat about flowers. Gotta work on that for next year. LOL
And I know better than to eat those so-called "sugar free" chocolates. I checked the package and sure enough it said MALITOL SYRUP in the ingredients in spite of the Splenda claim on the front label.
I did the math... took the calories per serving, subtracted 9 calories per gram of fat, 4 calories per gram of protein, divided that by 4 to figure out how many carbs were really there. Turns out they were some 4 to 5 carbs each candy. So much for thinking it through. I had a couple.
I had a few more.
Woke up this morning after a rather blustery night (malitol has no mercy whatsoever on my digestion) and thinking about the candy the minute my eyes opened. The candy is now secretly stashed in the trash. He's used to me finishing off candy at lightning speed, so won't know the difference.
Going to do induction for a few days, get back on track. I'm grateful for the boards to help me get honest with myself and be accountable.
