I remember that story, wasn't Rick the Atkins guy? He ended up with severe gout and need help from the Atkins center to modify his diet. But he ended up losing the most weight by far. That was a great show.

I remember the story also. Its where i learned about atkins. He reminds me of me. I am basically a couch potato who does nothing but work eat and sleep. His story has me motivated to get out there and do it.

he had previous bout of gout and didn't disclose it
he was also the fellow who thought he could have 6 bunless McDonalds cheeseburgers as a midnight snack.
Needless to say he was not doing atkins until he got the gout and DATELINE hooked him up with the atkins center folk.

We had a topic about it and I was so proud of all our inducttees who posted where are his veggies, that's not atkins when his menu was posted.

            The "good old days"

Remember the headline about the guy who won an oyster eating contest and said that it was okay for him to eat 300 (or whatever the number was) oysters because he was on Atkins? I remember someone looked up how many carbs he had eaten and it was something like 200 carbs.

don't forget the "is this true?' line our newbies added when reporting it or any other story about Atkins gluttony like the folk tossed out of the all you can eat prime rib buffet cause they had over 10 plates of the stuff and wanted more.
