  • Serves me right...

So I went out to the park with my kiddo to play..brought juice and all for her but no water for me soda for everybody else and all that. So as it got hotter and I got more and more thirsty that soda was looking pretty good..so I decided what the heck? it won't kill me today..well it almost did! that pepsi hit my throat like I was drinking hot sauce, it was horrible and it taste it worst! then it hit my stomach like a boulder and it sat there all afternoon. I had not drink pop since I started this WOE that would be November and I guess My insides had started to heal from all my pop drinking. I don't think after that experience that I can ever drink another pop ever again. Jeez! water is the life for me!

        Re: Serves me right...

When Heinz first introduced the "One Carb Ketchup" (AKA reduced sugar ketchup), I bought a bottle. And I tasted it------it was the most sickeningly sweet thing I've ever eaten. So I thought they messed up with the sweetness and had my friend taste it. He said it tasted exactly like the regular ketchup and was as sweet as the regular ketchup.

So our tastes change. Particularly if we don't bombard it with sugar substitutes and the like. I remember at one family gathering no one wanted to eat the strawberries because they were too sour. So I tasted one---it was nicely sweet to me. But everyone else needed to pour sugar or Equal on it. One of my cousins sat there with a bowl of sugar and dipped the berry into it, making sure it got a good sugar coating, with every bite---and she still complained they were too sour.

You know there are people who pour cola to remove the residue that build up on their car battery terminals. My dad used to use it back in the day.
I think his favorite was RC Cola.

          Google it, you will see!

I don't know how it affects the human tummy, I'm just sayin'.

That reminds me of how as a Brownie (the stage before Girl Guides in UK) we used to shine up our 'Thinking Day Penny' (gosh, that ages me ) by dropping it into a tin cup of coca cola that Brown Owl had bought in for the purpose !!

Of course at that age (under 11) the connection between what it must be doing to our insides never got made
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
