Re: And I gave up...carbs overdose

Yes, I am still on phrase 1, but I'm not following it 100%. I have been a carbs eater my entire life and I love sweets-this is my biggest weakness. Now, I am just taking it slowly, making sure I don't eat more than 25-30 g of carbs per day. I am also working out 5 times a week, about 1 1/2 hours each time, so I can feel that I need a bit more carbs than phrase 1 allows, otherwise I will just like pass out or have 0 energy (I have tried it). So having 1 bar a day or every other day helps me to keep away from all the sweets and give me the energy I need to work out.By the way that one time "accident" stopped my weight loss. I lost only a pound in about 5 days.

      Why not?

You may feel that, but that's not how Atkins works. Perhaps you're not eating the "right" number of net carbs for your workout?

Real food can do that, too.

Re: And I gave up...carbs overdose

When I say I'm not following it 100%, it means that mine is more likely a mixture of Induction and OWL, because the only extra things that I allow myself (that are not allowed in induction), are oranges occasionally, a bit ketchup and protein bars. I eat greens, lettuce, asparagus, cauliflower, string beans-but I'm just not getting the energy to work out then. I've been to the gym, wile being only on protein and greens and I have energy to work out for about 45-50mins. If I have an orange or a protein bar before, I can last up to 2 hours and feel excellent. The main reason why I am doing this is because it makes me feel better and I can avoid eating sweets that I absolutely love. Maybe I'm not strong enough to eat only protein and greens, but adding an extra 10g of carbs to my diet works for me and gives me a good feeling.

We have had bad experiences with the Atkins PB cups, which my DH now refers to lovingly as "Poop Cups". LOL

          They are total junk.

And orange is more than 10 g. of carbs.

And ketchup has more sugar per ounce than ice cream.

Atkins is more than proteins and greens.

Forgot to ask, how many net carbs worth of vegetables do you eat?

I agree with the others....Do yourself a favor and never buy them again, ever. I learned a word on this forum that helped me get through those trying times: Carbage.
Who wants to eat carbage/garbage? After all the hard work you've put into this WOE? No way!
Don't buy them, don't look at them, don't think about them, keep walking!
Also, don't think you knocked yourself out of ketosis, but drink tons and tons and tons of water to flush your system of the "impurities."
Keep working hard and try not to give into temptation.
If you feel like doing this again, just get on the forum and let us know. We'll get you through the difficult moments
