  • Atkins and Cholesterol and Fatty Liver.

Tried to post this in "Atkins for men" as its for my husband, but couldnt access that section.

My husband has a bit of cholesterol, and a real bad case of fatty liver. He is not really over weight, just average built, a bit of a potbelly but otherwise slim and small built.

He has very bad fatty liver. We thought at first it was cause of the drinks, so he abstained from drinks completely for 3 months and it did not affect the fatty liver count even a point. He is not obese either and he does not have any other health problems.. we did all the blood tests relating to fatty liver symptoms.

This last month, he also has a slight level of cholesterol.

What i would like to know is, anyone in a similar situation? can Atkins help his situation? I read that a ketogenic diet can help but I was wondering if anyone has had some experience with this?

Hi Sumi - the only way your husband can get into the 'Atkins for Men' forum would be to register here as a member and request to be made a member of the Men's forum.

He would need to type something in his signature saying he is a male then send a request to join the Men's forum - this can be done from his User CP by selecting the 'Group Memberships' option at the left of the screen then selecting the 'Join Group' button.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
