  • Anyone else have regrets?

I joined this site in May of last year. Just think, If I had kept with the plan I could probably be at my ultimate goal weight.

But no, I fell off the wagon just 2 months in and ate whatever I wanted for the last 10 months.

Well, I am back. And I AM going to stick with this. I am already in ketosis and not feeling very hungry, plus I went out to eat and wasn't tempted in the least by the big loaf of bread and french fries around me.

Thanks everyone for your support ; )

I got really lovely and healthy and slim doing Atkins before too - and then fell of the wagon and into the *Carb Pit* as well. (a very deep dark pit that Carb place is). This time round I have decided to make much more effort with my RECIPES to give more variety - and have been doing lots of web searches for low-carb recipes and also, the support on here is phenomenal. It's almost exciting this time, doing it again and knowing that it definitely works - but this time when I get to my goal (and I will) I know that going back to my old carb laden eating patterns will bring me back Here!! I was silly before, got cocky with my achievement and treated Atkins as a diet, got to where I wanted and then thought I knew it all (and ate what I liked and the weight crept back on pound by pound)..... - but I now know it has to be a way of life.

Sadly, we all do things that we regret from time to time. With Atkins, the important thing is that you've hopped back on the wagon. Congratulations! Oh and, btw... we hand out superglue here, to those who want it!!

Forget the regrets... let's focus on the bright, shiny and slim future!!

I'm on my 5th... no 6th try of Atkins right now. I can regret all the times that I fell off the wagon, but that doesn't do any good. As long as I keep climbing back on and trying my darndest to STAY on it, I'm still moving forward.

Never regret what you do in life, just learn from it. The best thing you can do is learn from your mistakes and do something about it so it doesn't happen again.

I really regret that I fell of the wagon hard too.

But I'm back on track now and that's all that matters. I've learned what I was doing wrong the first time (cheating and not following the plan correctly). I'm much better now!

              Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
              Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!

              Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
              Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
              Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!

                  Re: Anyone else have regrets?

I definitely have regrets about diets past (including Atkins years ago), but the best thing to do is move forward with a little more experience. I adopted a mantra that keeps things in check for me: Make yourself proud today. All that matters is today, and there is no better time to change your life than right now.

                    Re: Anyone else have regrets?

I'm right there with you. I regret that back in December/early January, I had finally gotten my body to 'move in the right direction' and then I just stopped paying attention to myself and what I was doing. And now, here I am trying to pick up the pieces and start again! BUT I can say that I won't regret getting back up!

Its good to know Im not alone.I lost 100lb and hit that mark last July and since then I gain 10lbs then lose 10lbs and yo-yoing on and off the diet.I feel I have wasted months messing with my body and want to be motivated like the begginning when nothing can stop me.Now I feel I give in easy and willpower needs charging.I am going to start a clean induction and Im focused but then I think thats what I said last time.I hope I stick to it.Good luck to us all!

                        Re: Anyone else have regrets?

I've been sloppy this last week. Just been feeling rundown. Checked my blood pressure & it was kind of low (90/60), for me. So I stopped my blood pressure medicine (has a diuretic in it too).
I had just had a whoosh from 184 to 182 & today I'm back up to 188. I'm hoping at least 2 of those pounds are from stopping the bp meds. But I wrote down all the foods I've been eating & yeah, I was sloppy.
Clean induction started today. And definitely logging my foods! No regrets, but a lesson learned: Each cheat gets a little easier to say yes to!!!! This is a way of life & there are certain foods that I should think of as poison!
Now that it's Lent, I've got to be ready with non-meat foods. I think I used that as an excuse to cheat last week!
