  • Birthday Party.

I'm going to a big birthday party today. We are also going to our "favorite" sushi restaurant. Wish me luck in staying on track. These people put as much faith in Dr. Atkins as they do in Von Danikan's pyramid theories. (Aliens built the pyramids like in Stargate.)

    Wish me luck!

Luck won't help you! Luck will do you no good!

    Good planning will help.

      Re: Birthday Party.

I think Dr Atkins will win in Atkins vs Alians.
      Anyways that is my bet.

Already I think the research has started to look more and more on the negative effects of sugars in our diet and I think that food pyramid is going to tilt a bit.

Since you know where you are going. Why not call today and let them know your dietary limitations and ask if they would have a special order ready for you when your party orders theirs.

          Re: Birthday Party.

you can eat sushi made without rice. it has a special name and is very atkins legal.

Tell the folk at the birthday party you are working hard to become healthy so you can share in the loive and friendship with them and your wife as you grow old together so you won't be celebrating the high carb foods being served. could start a trend of nobody eating the cake LOL

            Re: Birthday Party.

I did plan ahead. I brought almonds and blueberries and my brother and my sister-in-law asked me what I could eat of what they were making. I couldn't eat any of the veggies, so they offered, and made, me some cauliflower.

I don't like sashimi, so I had salmon and double veggies instead of rice.

            Well planned, and well executed.

What were the vegetables you couldn't eat?

carrots, potatos, and beets (which were in a sugar and cornstarch sauce)
The carrots were in a brown sugar and butter sauce... Yummy, but sugar = cravings & carbs.
