I just want to say that changing your lifestyle is about making changes in the way you think about food. Long ago I adopted the mindset that "I will Eat to Live Not Live to Eat"! I have flipped my own switch. I now view food as a means to sustain my body's functions. All our bodies need is just the basic foods. Sure, I would love to have some Baklava with my morning cup of coffee, but does my body need it. I haven't given up on taste. Steak tastes good. Chicken tastes good. I just don't need to eat it fried all the time. I eat at least 3 eggs and 1 large sausage patty almost every morning Mon - Sun. When I don't have the time for that, I will make a whey protein shake of 52g of protein and very little carbs (Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein-WalMart) and split it into two servings throughout the day. Since about the second week of Jan '10 I have lost 24#. I have not exercised as much as I should, but I am going to school at night and there are compromises, but not my eating. I still have a ways to go. All you need to do is make the mental change not to let food run your life.

    You're eating vegetables, right?

You could have some at breakfast, too.

Oh, yes. I used to eat sandwiches with bread everyday: same sandwich. Now I wrap the meat in a large leaf of lettuce topped with spinach leaves. I also eat a salad or other vegetable at dinner.
