  • Eating Seafood & My Extreme Migrane's !!!

I have been on a 100mg dose of Topamax 2x daily for the last two years for Extreme Migrane's. I have been having them since after I was in a Motorcycle Accident in Aug 04'. The last two weeks they have become very painful again on a daily basis to the point of putting me in bed by 1 to 2PM. I have made an appt to see my Primary Care Dr this week coming~up for some tests & poss med change.

Long story short I had the rare pleasure of eating 10oz on Friday & 16oz on Saturday of Large Steamed Shrimp which seemed to help make my Migrane Pain about 60% better !!!

I was then wondering if anyone else has ever noticed/has had this same experience ???

I plan on doing some research in to seafood & what's in it that poss help's with Migrane's that I may be lacking in my present diet !!!

Thanking you in advance for your thought's/imput !!!

    kaylasgram~

Selenium is a trace element, found in shellfish, meats, nuts and in many plants. Some people who suffer from migrains are low in this trace element.

Since yours started after an injury you may have underlying muscle weakness and muscle shortening, combined with limited range of motion that contributes to your migrains. Stress, weight gain, diet changes or even starting new exercise regime can trigger headaches.

Have you tried Physical therapy/massage/accupuncture? These things can make wonderful changes in your current situation. Some people swear by an herbal product called MigraHealth.

See your doctor soon and ask about PT to see if now that the acute injury is healed, if muscle retraining and strengthening may help you.

    Good luck.
