      Hi,
      Happy Birthday to you.

What do you mean is it fair? to have an Atkins cheesecake? What is wrong with an Atkins Cheesecake? The one I serve at most family gatherings is enjoyed by everyone. And if it might bother you, why not have 2 cakes??? Since you are having such a big party, you may need more cakes anyway...

Since you are throwing the party, you are in complete control of the food and desserts. So you can stay 100% and have a great time!!!!

      Have a great party!

Thanks!its not my birthday just yet lol but i am planning for it early. The reason i asked is it fair was because im sure everyone isnt going to want sugar free low carb cheesecake so should i order a regular cake for them and have my own special one already made?

LATKES! Help. I'm going to visit my family, and my daughter-in-law, whom I adore, knows I love them (the latkes I mean). She just emailed me that she is going to make them special for ME (out of season or not, I couldn't make it for the holidays). They are a LOT of work, and I have flunked out helping to make them after leaving much grated finger skin in with the potatos) Anyway, what can I say to stop this major temptation from occuring (she does NOT believe in Atkins and has her masters in nutrition) without hurting her, I so value her love and laughter. My son drowns his in tabasco and salsa (we are Portuguese not Jewish) and she doesn't seem to mind, just giggles. I must write before D-Day. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you know the answer-like I said earlier, why not do both?
But again...what is wrong with a sugar free cheesecake? It is still "sweet".
Most people would probably not even know the difference if you didn't tell them.

My brother in law didn't know.

He didn't want a "birthday" party on his last birthday, so when we came over I brought my Atkins cheesecake, which was perfect, it did not "LOOK" like a typical birthday cake, which was exactly how he wanted it. NO "BIRTHDAY" stuff.

(My sister suggested the cheesecake since she liked it last time she had it at my house, BIL was not there that day)

As we were eating the cake he asked why I was eating cake, too, since he knew I have been a strict Atkins follower. I told him that the cake was 100% ok, just the difference was no crust, and Splenda instead of sugar.

He said it was amazing, he would never have guessed!

Re: How do i avoid a birthday party temptation

Celebrate the love and friendships you share with your friends family and coworkers and forget about celebrating high carb foods.
Cleochatra did a meat cake with cauliflower icing as her bday cake even did meat cake cupcakes and everybdoy loved them.

if you think you might be tempted to "enjoy" the high carb cake don't serve it. afterall it is your bithday party so everybody should be there to celebrate you not the cake.

If it's a great cheesecake, they'll never know it's sugar free.

Re: How do i avoid a birthday party temptation

i have 2 parties for my kids. on was yeaterday and i have one this sat. both my boys birthday is today 3 not twins though 3 years apart. anyways.
I am on induction and my biggest complaint was like you what about the cake. So I did cheat but not too badly what I did was make the 3min cakes from lindas low card recipes it was so good I couldn’t believe it I didn’t even miss that I didn’t get to eat the cake we had for my son. We made 3 batches in 3 separate bowls one for me my wife and mother in law who is diabetic so she was happy. We added whipped cream. It was so good. sorry I’m excited . not sure what phase you are in but that was my way out of that situation also we had it at a bowling alley and all we had was pizza so me and my wife stopped and at a lowcarb burger from carls jr before we went as to not be tempted. I hope I’m good this weekend. And if you’re the one having the part I say you at least have to have something for yourself to eat.
