  • Wii Fitness Games?

    Hey Everyone..

Was just wondering if anyone has any of the Nintendo Wii Fitness games and if so, could you let me know the good, bad and the ugly about them.

I have EA Sports Active and for the most part I like it, but I would also like to change it up with another game.

I don't have the Wii Fit nor the balance board and I know it is required or at least enhances the experience for a lot of the other fitness games.

So, just wonderin if any of you would like to share your experiences with any of the Wii Fitness Games.

    Thanks...

    Re: Wii Fitness Games?

I have the Wii Fit and just recently bought the Wii Fit Plus. I enjoy some of the activities on there, some are too difficult for me right now, and some are just silly. I don't feel like I get a real good workout from it, but it's fun and does get the heart rate up a bit. For someone in better shape than I am, they could probably utilize more of the activities such as yoga and strength moves and they might be beneficial.

I have come to enjoy the Biggest Loser Wii game. I have it set on beginner and I get a pretty good workout. I think it has 3 different levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). You can use it with the balance board also.

Thanks mommajen. I actually had purchased the Biggest Loser game but then after researching it online it said it was best utilized with the balance board so I took it back.

I think I'm going to have to get me a balance board and then I will have more variety of fitness games to choose from.

      Thanks again for the reply.

I haven't used the balance board for the actual working out part on Biggest Loser. The only thing I have used for it for is weighing. I guess some parts might benefit from the board, but I like the weighing feature.

I have EA Sports Active and Wii Fit Plus (with the balance board). I get a better workout with the EA Sports using the board but love Wii Fit Plus for the strength exercises. I rotate the disks daily. Also the Wii Sports can get me sweating because I'm so competitive. Especially when playing the tennis...

I don't even have Wii at all.. but I bought one.. lol.. we bought just the Wii sports things for my niece last Christmas (200.. and now she's 13...

went to the door the other day ... she's sweating like a horse... she's been doing boxing... she loves the thing.. and even at 13 years old... she's getting a sweating it out .. aerobic and muscle building workout.. (I dont' know specifically what all games she has.. the sports came with the basic stuff.. and I bought her the additional nunchucks etc.)

so.. I guess it's like a lot of things.. it depends on the effort you put in it...

she didn't even want the balance board this year.. because I found the Wii fit (last year she THOUGHT she wanted it.. but we couldn't find it.. this year found it for $99 and she didn't even want it).... but the boxing.. stuff.. I know she works up a sweat with that..

                  Re: Wii Fitness Games?

                  Thanks Everyone!

I'm pretty satisfied with the EA Sports Active and I'm sure it would be an enhanced workout with the balance board.

I may invest in that one of these days...but for now I just finished my first 30 day program and planning on starting another one at a higher intensity.

The boxing is one of my favorites. I have put together an entire custom boxing workout and at the end of that 15 minutes, you know you have done something, thats for sure.

But, its true, you get out what you put in. The level of intensity you put into the exercise is the key.

Some of the exercises using the resistance bands, well, I shorten them up quite a bit to give me more resistance. They would be no challenge otherwise.

I'm still not in great shape, but I can tell the difference, just based on the running from the first day til now.

One thing I really like is the variety of exercises daily, plus being able to customize your own workout should you want to do that.

I think I'm going to do this workout another month and look into other Wii fitness dvd's as well. We have Wii Sports and my daughter just ordered Sports Resort, which is more fun that fitness...so to speak, but still it does get you moving.

I have heard the Gold's Gym one is pretty good. Anyone try that yet.

So many to chose from and its disappointing to buy a dvd and then its not great, they are too expensive for that!

Hi Lanner...I'm confused...what do you mean by "the motion fit" one.

Are you talking about the motion plus adapter you can snap on to the end of your Wii Remote or is that the name of a game?

                          Re: Wii Fitness Games?

Hey Jules...I was thinking of buying the More Workouts from EA Sports but I'm going to hold off buying any more fitness games until I can find a balance board.

I called and looked at every retailer who sells them here in my city yesterday and there isn't one to be found. Serious shortage.

But if and when someone does get them back in stock, I'm going to get the Wii Fit Plus with the balance board and then probably buy the More Workouts and I've heard the Biggest Loser was fun yet challenging.

Thanks for giving me the heads up on the More Workouts. By the way, did you just buy the balance board seperately? I notice you are from Canada and I didn't think we could get them seperatedly. Also, was this recently and where did you purchase it from. Maybe I can find it from there online.

                          Thanks

Well I had the same problem looking for a balance board! Trying to find one since November last year, I guess it was a BIG christmas gift this year LOL So finally in mid February my hubby found one in wal mart and yes it was purchased separately and my board came with a much better band than the active game! But once you do find one, I promise you will absolutely LOVE it!!! Good luck...I know they are hard to come by. A friend of mine has the jillian one and says its good, but honestly I am so happy with "more workouts" that I dont really need it. I also didn't really find wii fit plus to be all that challenging, however on my off days from active I use it because its got some pretty cute games....the bubble but bounce is kinda funny! Lol
Anyways...hope you can find the board!

it's the ea sports one with the leg band, and you put your nunchuck in there.
i call it motion active for some bizarre reason, i don't even know if thats the name.

wii fit plus was great too but i got tired of doing the same old stuff.

i also noticed that working out abs isn't really in any of these workouts, which kinda sucks.
