I'm not sure I am posting in the right place (new to computer stuff) so if this is not right sorry. I am on day 26 and have lost 20 pounds. I am still on induction because right at around day 13 my Dad died and I was out of town and wasn't sure how to switch to OWL. So, now I am home and ready to move on to OWL and am not having a hard time making the switch. Will I be hungry, have cravings again when I add more carbs? I am comfortable and happy here and just nervous to move on. So any advice would be great. I'm gonna be getting out THE BOOK and reading later this afternoon (during kids nap time) about ongoing weight loss and how to do it. Any advice would be helpful.

You shouldn't be hungry.
>>So any advice would be great.>>
The first rung of OWL is an extra 5 net carbs of Induction vegetables.

Re: not sure how to move on
good for you sticking to your low carb atkins even when grieving the loss of your dad.
To answer your questions about OWL
We alsways have hunger even during induction we just don't fell it the same way we did high carb eating. things like feeling light headed, dizzy, tired, weak, confused thinking, agitation for no good reason are all symptoms of needing food cause our body is hungry. We have appetite suppression so the wanting of foods is suppressed and that will continue to be suppressed for most of the OWL phase.
At first you are adding a few more net carbs of those yummy induction veggies.
As you climb the rungs you might find a food or two that will trigger hunger and cravings in you and if so you just don't eat it and have some fatty protein to help reset your appetite suppression.
As we get closer to our individual carb tolerance level our appetite will return. That is a scary moment for many folk. Since we have been practicing portion control and feeding only our hunger, and learned what foods we have issues with and which ones we don't we will be armed with the tools needed to make it to goal weight and stay there even with appetite.

Re: not sure how to move on
Thank you for all the encouragement, and condolences. I have learned that if I ever need to bring food to a grieving family that it would be a blessing to bring REAL food. I was surrounded by junk all week (even cheese cake!). I was so happy when someone brought a deli and veggie tray.
I just put the kids down for their nap and am planning on doing some reading on OWL, chapter 14 I think... I am excited to have more veggies (sauteed zucchini tonight!!).

That is my fear exactly. I had not been able to articulate it that clearly but there it is. I know that adding more veggies won't cause me any trouble I just don't want to muss this all up.age, 28
height, 5'9"

Re: not sure how to move on
the rungs take along time to test i would test only 1 new food each week and if you feel good the whole week and still loseing weight while eating that food then its good
i have many intolerances to lots of different foods
one thing to remember though don't let the taste of a food impair your judgement sometimes i make excuses for foods that taste really good instead of listening to the way it makes my body feel. like sour cream took me along time to relize im allergic to it but since it tasted so good i did not want to accept that i was allergic to it so i keept trying it out many more times and keept feeling crappy each time after eating it
