  • 50 lbs lost since December!!

    Hello all

    I made my 50 lb goal and went out to celebrate like I said I would and paid $1200 bucks for my brand new 20" long silky black hair extensions and I look AWESOME!! I love it!!! and I feel great, to all those starting don't give up even if you go a step backwards, just make your next step forward

    I started atkins in late november but every other week just sort of fell off the wagon and was not working out..late december I started to really follow it and added the gym from november to december I only lost like 7 lbs not following it right..from december to march 18 I lost 50 lbs give or take depending what mood my scale is on lol.

      Great job! I have a question for you. I started at 240 on January 5th. I was strict, no diet pop, no dairy etc. but I did have one of those individual serving of sf jello at night. I lost 20 pounds in three weeks but haven't lost anymore. About the beginning of Feb. I starting using heavy cream, drinking diet pop and probably out of my 20 carbs, only 10 are from veggies. So my question is: have you stayed on strict induction without the dairy and diet pop the whole time? Can you tell me what your typical daily menu is? I'm really starting to get frustrated and reading your posts really gave me alot of encouragement! I'm also a stay at home mom who has gained 100 pounds since marriage. If you have any words of wisdom I can really use them!

        heavy cream, whipping cream seemed to cause me stalls so i had to cut it out

        its too high in carbs i think 15 ml says 0 carbs but 20 ml could say 1 carb

        also im allergic to it so that may also be why it causes alot of problems

        i couldn't eat any of the medium carb vegetables either with out them causeing stalls for me and medium carb vegetables are like spagetti squash

        i also could only have 1 of my meals per day with cheese and if i had 2 meals with cheese it may have slowed my weight loss but that was cause i prob ate over the daily allowed limmit

        i found my best weight loss just eating eggs, meat, broccoli, foods really low in carbs that are healthy and that you can eat lots of and no junk food like diet pop or jello

          Thank you, I know how frustrating it can be. I only cheated once in December for the holidays lol but no more. I have stalled a couple of times but I fixed the problems..I was not drinking enough water. Also I have stayed in the strict induction (extended induction) because I have come to realize I am not yet ready to move from there..not yet.

          No soda, no sugar free jell-o because it is not really sugar-free.

          One day for me will be :

          Go to the gym for an hour before breakfast!

          2 eggs, 3 pcs of bacon with a cup of tomatoes (breakfast) I don't drink coffee, just water water and water!

          Snack : piece of cheese

          baked chicken with 1 cup of string beans butter.

          snack : either some left over chicken or if not hungry nothing.

          Dinner : Baked fish with broccoli and cheese

          water water water and then more water


          Now if I have a very very very sweet tooth I will make the scramble eggs with cream cheese and reduced sugar syrup (allowed tps only) for one of my meals and it kills my sweet tooth.

          When I am really really down or stressed ( going thru divorce) and just want to eat something, I remember how bad I felt before and how I am the only one that can change me. I also visit the before and after photos in the board, it reminds me that I can look that good! Hope this helps!

            Thanks for your reply. I started drinking a can of diet pop a day and I have to admit, once I started that I have been TOTALLY out of control. Same with the heavy cream. (Of course as I type this I have a glass of diet root beer with heavy cream in it) lol . I don't drink coffee so I don't need the heavy cream for that, so I'm going to pour the rest of it down the drain, because if it's in my fridge I'll use it. Same with the diet pop. As far as veggies go, I like green beans and cauliflower with a little butter, and I totally love cucumbers with vinegar. And one salad a day won't kill me. Thanks again for posting your menu!

              Maybe you should move to OWL?

              Get rid of the diet pop, start getting more Induction vegetables.

              How much cream are you using?

              Get rid of both.

                    Good, throw it out! no good. I do my cream cheese 2 tbs with the eggs deal but that is the only thing I use it for. Actually I hate vegetables never ate them, would go to burger king and ask them to take it out! with this WOE I have been fighting them but I have found ways to try new ones, I now eat caulifrower, string beans, tomatoes, cucumbers and okra sometimes because those have higher carb count so only in a blue moon. and love the water, be one with the water lol.

                      WOW!!!! That is excellent progress. I want to get started back to the Atkins way of eating. I've gained about 25 pounds since last year. Thanks for posting what you are eating. I need lots of help in that area. I don't cook much and I work 12 hours a day. I like meals that are easy to fix in the microwave. If you think of any more menus that work for you, please post them!

                        Thank you, I like to do it simple if not then I will fail. I usually get my menu from Linda's recipe site. Check it out they are very simple. I don't have the link right now but I am sure somebody does lol.

                              Great, super great job. Good for you!! Fifty pounds is incredible.

                              1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
                              what the rungs mean to me:
                              rung 1 - more veggies
                              rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
                              rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
                              rung 4 - berries, melon
                              rung 5 - wine -
                              rung 6 - beans, hummus
                              rung 7 - other fruits
                              rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
                              rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
                              Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
                              (on to pre-maintenance)
