    Hello All,

I started atkins diet last August and lost a lot of weight, then christmas came I fell off the wagon and found it hard to get back. New year came started again then my grandmother died and an end of a long relationship pushed me right back to the carbs. I gained almost the weight I had lost back with exception of 6 pounds. I decided enough is enough I need to back on track so I have restarted the induction as from Monday with more determination than ever. I am 5"3 weighing 183 pounds (13.1 stone) with a weight target of 112 pounds (8 stones). I have a long way to go but I plan to take it one day at a time.

There seems is a great support system here and look forward to being part of it.

Any advice on how I can keep myself motivated even during emotional times?

    Thank you

Welcome back! This is a wonderful support system. Laurenfra is right about turning to this board instead of food. Read the posts, reading the book and having a game plan is the best advise I can give you. I think a big part of this WOL is learning how to deal with situations that are going to come up. Always have a Plan A and a back-up plan B. Heres to your success!

Welome back, hope you succeed this time! I would suggest a regular work out schedule to really help cut stress and help the pounds burn off.

          Welcome back!

Welcome back! You made the right decision.

As far as motivation and support, try this:

          1. Check out the before and after pic forums

          2. Take progress pics-keep an old pic handy-hold them side by
side (this will make you think before you act :yes)

          3. Check out success stories from other atkineers

          4. Give yourself a pep talk-I can do this, I will do this, I will not let food win! :no

          5. Last but definitely not least, come to ha. (we understand you can't always do it on your own :hug

welcome back! you are going to do great! some days are easier than others, but stay strong and you are going to make it. like you said, take it one day at a time. some days it might feel like you are getting nowhere, but then all of a sudden it hits you, and you realize you are a healthier and slimmer version of your old self. watch out for the scale-i learned the hard way to stay off of it. i used to go on several times a week, but now i go on maybe once a week. clothes and the people around you are a better gage of your success! :yes good luck!! everyone is here to support you! :hug

                Hi and welcome home!

Plan ahead and be prepared with what you will do when a stressor hits--and practice your escape plan-- otherwise you'll be back at square one before you can say, "Oops I ate the whole thing".
