    Re: Need Help With Induction

Seems you may have skipped over this post.

Just in case here it is again...

Read all of the links I sent you earlier---scroll above....there is some intense veggie info there...where it says "Veggie Info". Please read all of what I sent, even if you think you have seen some of it. There is a lot of helpful info. And it won't hurt to read it again... You are asking questions about things that are in these links, and if you read the book as you said, you should know some of these things. That's ok, ask, but read the tools provided to you.

Or try this link- you are looking for her 11 in 3 series...It shows how to get 11g of carbs in 3 cups. Scroll thru menu 1, menu 2, etc. She did a lot of work putting this together:

Well you have an adventure in front of you. I really like your attitude. I suggest trying eating more peppers. They are really good for you. And then try jicama if you can find it. It is really good raw.

            Re: Need Help With Induction

ok great, thank you for the links,,,they have def helped...if I happen to have trouble finding some new veggies I like, if i were to rotate through...onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, lettuce, cucumbers, broccoli and all the average veggies....would this suffice?...Also, if you guys have any last minute advice I am all ears.... I am assuming I should tune up my diet and start a new 2 weeks of induction?....Also, should i start using flaxseed or those husks mentioned in the book?

You can look them up on Wikipedia.

                Re: Need Help With Induction

I am on sparkpeople and I found the carbs per cup of onions= 14 carbs...a cup of tomato= 8 carbs....so when I am counting my carbs for the day...should I take into consideration each vegetables carb count...or can i consider a cup of vegetables all the same....since we are limited to 3 cups a day, i was not sure if the limitation was sufficient enough so carb counting of vegetables was not necessary

                  Re: Need Help With Induction

You need to count NET carbs. And you count the carbs of everything individually.

                    Re: Need Help With Induction

Yes, as Atkinsgal said, you need to count the net carbs of each different vegetable you choose. This is because lettuce has less than 1/2 net carb per cup whereas onions have about 11 net carbs and sweet red peppers have about 7 net carbs so whichever veg you choose will make a big difference to your net carb total.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
