  • Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin

Yesterday evening, I asked the grocery manager at a small neighborhood store about the Libby's 100% Pumpkin. They have been out since December. He took my phone# and said if he can get any, he would call me. I said I would take a case if he got it.

10:00 this morning, he called and said he had a case behind customer service waiting for me. It was not even 24 hours! And when I got there I had 2 surprises..It was the 29 oz size cans, not the 15 oz, and because i bought a case, I got a 10% discount!!!

    They expire in May 2012.

    Case of 12 X 29 oz= $30.72 includes tax

    I am a Happy Gal!

So those of you having trouble finding it---maybe if you "ASK" then to order you may luck out as I did.

        Liv,

Over the past months I read about pumpkin being a good veggie to have when you need to add more carbs, and also I read some people raving about a dessert with pumpkin, touch of cream cheese, splenda packet, etc. I tried it, and I really liked it. So now if I need to get my veggie carbs in and I am falling short for the day, I have some pumpkin or pumpkin treat.

Lucky you... I've asked at my store and didn't get an offer like that.

I've been to three different stores and was told that the warehouses are all out. I guess pumpkins had a bad crop last year and there wasn't enough to go around.

Like you, I like it to increase my veggie carbs on those days when I just can't seem to get enough in for whatever reason. Enjoy!

              Hi PolarBK,

Yeah, even my SuperWalmart checked the thing they order on and it said Out of Stock, none in warehouse, and something like, unable to reorder.

My sister also pick up 14 of the (small cans 15 oz) for me a few weeks ago, again, at her small neighborhood store. It was actually a Polish supermarket. She goes there once in a blue moon for sausage or something.

Hi! I was wondering if you can list how much of the pumpkin, cream cheese and splenda you use, and do you microwave it?

                Thanks!

                  Usually I use:

                  .5 cup 100% pumpkin
                  .5 - 1.0 oz cream cheese
                  1 packet Splenda

I micro the cream cheese until soft, mix with the Pumpkin and Splenda. You can warm the whole thing up if you want, or chill it in the fridge. No need to "cook" it.

I have also seen this on other recipes:
(optional touch of Pumpkin Spices, or Cinnamon)
                  (optional 1 tablespoon Heavy Cream

                  Enjoy!

around here there's never a shortage of pumpkin that i know about.. there's still fresh ones in the Ingles markets.. and canned.. Libby's has it at the Dollar General, Family Dollar, Walmart, and all the grocery stores...

anybody remember that time when every can I bought was gritty? it actually had like dirt in it.. i wrote them and complained.. and they sent me some coupons...

the last cans i've bought were fine though..
