    Well done, Linda

How many pounds did you lose and how many in total do you hope to lose? These numbers should help you decide if you should move straight to OWL or stay on induction a while longer.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Great job. I love how you focused on how you feel and how your cravings are gone. That is the way to look at it. Now for the decision time. Decide your goal and where you are towards it. That will determine how much longer you should stay on induction or if you need to move on. The great thing about this WOE is that you can return to induction or stay on Owl at whatever rung or carb amount that feels right. I probably won't stray above 30grams net carbs until I can figure out my protien limit. I am struggling there now.

      Good luck and God bless

read chapter 13 of your DANDR and answer the questions. They will tell you if you need to go to OWLK or not. remeber though that OWL is where we learn what real foods agree with our body and what real foods don't, what real foods cause us craving issues and we practice dealing with food caused cravings in a controlled manner so we want to have lots of time to proactice because when we get to goal weight we do not want to have to learn how to eat to stay there.

I have 32 more to lose so I plan on staying on induction for a while. How tall are you?

All I have to do is look at the messges and inspriations from those who replied to your original post and I am SO ENTHUSED. What an accomplishmnet you ladies have achieved. Congratulations.

Pretty soon LInda and I will be right there with you!

              Hello,

Well it sounds like you and I do have a similar challenge. I am 5'1 , I know people always comment on how tall I am. lol. I lost 9 lbs and my realistic goal is 50 but my ultimate goal is 65. I was just thinking that I might also try and stick with induction for at least the next 2 weeks unless I find that I'm getting too bored with it.
I think that 9 lbs and 8lbs for you is quite good considering that is almost 25% of what you intend to lose! So congrats!

I do think this forum is inspirational as well!

Thanks so much for the support and keep me posted!

Let's keep in touch - I had my first tempation tonight. A friend had foot surgery so I stopped after work to take her dinner - we did Panera cob salads - I skipped the bread and the wine at her house - yeah.

                  >>I have 32 more to lose so I plan on staying on induction for a while>>

Your decision to not move to OWL is probably a mistake. You don't have very much to lose, and since you should be on pre-maintenance with 5-10 pounds to lose, you need the time in OWL to learn what foods work for your body.

Remember that Induction isn't about losing ... it's about getting your body ready to lose.

You do your losing on OWL!

Thanks for that suggestion - I was just hoping to stay in Induction until I drdopped the 20 that's ON TOP of the other 20 I needed to lose. Can you direct me to the part of the book that explains that. I am taking the adivce of those wiht more experience than I. How many carbs per day should I go up 5 per day, 10 per day?

Induction isn't about losing so much as it laying the foundation for losing. Staying on induction until you lose the first 20 pounds is probably a mistake. So many people overstay their time on Induction and regret it.

Do you really think an extra 5 net carbs of Induction vegetables will keep you from continuing to lose?

Going to Panera is just be too cruel too yourself! I had a dream that I ate some kind of chocolate dessert and I was so mad at myself, but relieved when i woke up and found it was only a dream, how odd! Although my main concern is that I m not counting my carbs correctly as im using an online nutrition tracker/counter sparkpeople but i worry that it doesnt put in the carbs correctly, like my hot sauce says 1 per 4g serving (texas pete hot sauce) but it shows up as zero? I dont know if i am actually using 4g when i use it ( I just splash it on my chicken)!
Well good job facing and winning over temptation...I myself wouldnt have gone there as that would be tough.

Does Sparkpeople allow you to enter 'custom foods'?

If so you can set up an entry for your sauce by telling the software to count 1 carb per 4 grams(which I assume is probably one teaspoon of it.

Just splashing sauce on can be deceptive when you are guessing how much you are using.

If you have an accurate scale that measures grams you could put the bottle on it and note the total grams then reweigh it after 'splashing' and see how much less it weighs, so you know how much you are using. Do this several times to see how consistent your 'splash' is then you can use that amount as your usual serving.

ok thanks, thats a great idea! But the bottle says a 4g serving has 1 carbohydrate, the ingredients are peppers, vinegar, salt, xanthan gum and benzoate of soda. 1 carbohydrate sounds like so much for only 4g. Could this be wrong, I have read in many post people saying hot sauce is fine to use during induction?
