  • HELP...Not hungry!!!

    I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I am just not hungry at all. I just started week 3 of atkins diet and decided to go to fitday and see start an account that. I am losing weight but according to what it shows there I am only getting about 6 net carbs a day. I am not sure what to do from here because I am just not hungry at all.

    Appetite suppression is one of the effects of ketosis.

    I am only getting about 6 net carbs a day.
    What are these carbs coming from? Can you share a menu, with quantities and net carbs for all foods?

      Breakfast

      Advant Shake

      Lunch
      2 cups salad mix
      shredded cheese
      2 hardboiled eggs
      2 tablespoons italian salad dressing
      12 slices pepperoni

      Dinner
      2 strips fried chicken...no breading
      1/2 cup beets

      Snack
      2 turkey hot dogs and a handful of pork rinds

        It's very likely that you're not getting the nutrients your body needs for good health and efficient metabolism.

        Shakes are not meal replacements. You'd be better off with real food instead.

        You could have some vegetables with your breakfast.

        Lunch
        2 cups salad mix
        There are more nutritious vegetables. There's no need to choose the ones that are lowest in carbs. Did you check the Acceptable Foods List?

        2 tablespoons italian salad dressing
        What are the ingredients?

        12 slices pepperoni
        This is very processed meat and I bet it has sugar added, so not really a good option.

        1/2 cup beets
        Beets are not allowed on Induction. They are a starchy vegetable and come in OWL Rung 8.

        Snack
        2 turkey hot dogs and a handful of pork rinds
        Instead of snacking on pork rinds and hot dogs, you could snack on some vegetables with a little fat and protein.

          try picking some higher carb veggies from the acceptable foods lists and as Georgiana said use then with a fat for your snacks.

          When we are not hungry we should be using the 6 hr rule to eat a small snack of some of our veggies with a protein/fat so if you are not hungry you should not be eatting all those foods you listed.

          Your body will tell you when it is hungry if you listen and then you should eat some of your veggies with protein and fats as a meal.

          what are you doing as the mandatory exercise part of your atkins?

            Maybe you can post a link to your fitday account so people can troubleshoot more accurately?

            According to what you listed as food for the day I think it really has more carbs than you think.
            Advantage shakes seem to have 2.8/2.9 net carbs
            1/2 cup raw beets have 5 net carbs, if you ate 1/2 cup cooked beets it might have more.
            2 large eggs would have nearly 1 net carb
            2 cups shredded lettuce could have nearly 1 net carb
            Pepperoni could have some carbs depending on ingredients
            Dressing often have some carbs
            Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )
