    Re: FAGE Yogurt...$$$ !!!

Fage is pretty filling. I can only barely eat half of a cup at a time. It's the consistency of sour cream. Half of a cup of plain, high fat fage with 2 sliced strawberries and I'm seriously full from breakfast until lunch. It's a good value for the $$$.

Do you have a Trader Joe's near you? Trader Joe's carries Fage and has their own brand of greek yogurt. My dd loves Fage, but at 1.79 ea (with honey) I stopped buying it - til TJ's came out with their own brand. She says it tastes the same as Fage.

So when I decide to go to the Dairy rung and eat yogurt, I eat 5 grams of carbs?

The yogurt labels are driving me crazy. And so hard to find full fat, but I guess low fat or fat free is ok?

Trying to find the yogurt with the best bang for the buck.(Carb buck)

Here are two I wrote down when at the store-

Mountain High/Full fat = 17 grams of carb for 8 oz. (sugar 15g)
              Oikos/0% FAT = 6 carbs for a 5.3 oz serving (sugar 6 grams)
Fage full fat 7 oz = 6 carbs.

                As cleochatra said
Fage is so sexy, you want to put fishnets on it and spank it. It's worth the money.

I've also tried a few different ones., TJ's, Stoneyfield, Oikos and Fage is worth the money to me. Unfortunately, seems like all Trader Joe's have pulled the full fat (Total) Fage off the shelf. Fage Total has the lowest carbs of them all so I prefer the full fat. But I may start buying the Fage 0% at Costco cuz it's cheaper.

Yep. Only 3 times a week... you know that.

Really? In Germany, finding full fat yogurt is waaay easier than finding low fat. We don't have fat free at all... at least I haven't seen any fat free brand around here.

Anyway... yes, low fat or fat free is fine. You could add cream to it, to increase the fat content.

Don't forget how America has gone Fat Free Crazy, they are still on that "KICK!"

I spoke to a clerk at the store last week and he said Dannon was pulling all of their full fat stuff out of most of their stores (national chain), because no one is buying it!

And I am not worried too much about the cost as much as what is my best choice as far as the least carbs for the bigger serving.

Mountain High is sure not the way to go!

                      Thanks Kjel,

I think the Fage is definitely one of the besy ways to go. And Oikos. I have only seen 0%fat Oikos as well. And the carb count looks good!

I must be lucky I pay 3 for $5 the last few weeks (7 oz tub). Maybe I should stock up before the price is raised!

ever thought about making your own? It's very easy.
