Re: Why is cheese so limited???
It tends to stall a lot of people if they eat more than that amount (it stalls SOME people eating LESS than that amount).
It also isn't good to use up so much of your daily carb limits in eating tons of cheese - better to learn to eat more variety and veggies.CHALLENGES: Walking - ? miles

Re: Why is cheese so limited???
cheese has lactose sugars which are carbs but on the package it says 0 but its not 0
same with whipping cream but i think whipping cream has alot more lactose sugars than cheese so it has to be limmited even more i stalled when i had whipping cream but that also may have been because im allergic to it

Re: Why is cheese so limited???
There's the nutritional aspect, too.
4 ounces of cheese is a lot ... if you're eating more than that, then you're not getting the other nutrition (and net carbs) you need from your Induction vegetables.
Perhaps you should consider that cheese is a problem food for you ... and that not having it at all for a while would be a sound approach.J.

Re: Why is cheese so limited???
Cheese is one of those higher calorie items that contains sodium, fat and lactose, and because some folks have an unknown aversion to dairy, induction is a good and safe way to test whether or not dairy is your friend without feeling too deprived overall.
The best side effect of Atkins is its ability to show you what your intolerances, allergies and aversions are. And often, the more you crave something, the more likely you are to have an aversion to it biologically. Keeping things to a dull roar ensures weight loss and aooga horns if any issues do crop up.

Re: Why is cheese so limited???
Too much of it definitely stalls me. Even in OWL, I limit it to less than 3 oz. per day or less. I also think I'm lactose intolerant (as many people more, more than most think or know) so I avoid alot of dairy.
Plus I agree with the above, if you're eating alot of it, you're likely eating less of something else (like veggies).
It's a case where you'll have to see how it affects you and make sure you're getting all the other nutrients in that you need first.Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"

Re: Why is cheese so limited???
Its hard to cut back on cheese but they are right you should eat more veggies. I know personally though a slice of sharp cheddar keeps me from cheating. I did this diet like 5 years ago and lost all the weight I gained from being on predanzone and being very ill. I kept it off but unfortunately had to be put back on the meds and gained most of it back. UGH
I am CHUBBY again!
