Agreed. I think she's deluded herself into thinking she's happy with her weight. I bet in the past she has tried time and time again to lose with no success...so what can she do with the knowledge she's stuck with an obese body? She can beat herself up every day, or pretend to accept it and that she's happy with it.
And of course those of us who view this for what it is: objectively GROSS and unhealthy will be blanketed as having some sort of 'ism.

Re: Why would somebody do that?

      The way I see it:
I think she does not have the courage to try to lose weight
, so she thinks she might as well enjoy herself (stuffing her self) as she kills herself slowly, and she is getting paid to do this! I don't think she sees a downside. I think she has given up on herself and figures she might as well go down eating what makes her happy. Terribly sad situation.

She is so deluded! I bet, sorry to say, that she won't make it as her heart and other organs will give out.

I don't know the lady so I won't judge her. I am determined to lose weight, she is determined to gain. There are millions out there that make money on weightloss, she is making money on weight gain...to each their own. Nor do I see this as child abuse, do we consider someone who is paralized and can not move around at all a child abuser? We don't know her child nor do we know how she parents. Many children grow up in much worse situations and come out on the other end fine.

I say God bless her and I honestly hope she is happy.

I disagree, you can't compare a paralized person who got paralized by accident or no fault of their own to somebody who is doing harm to themselves, because trying to weight 1000 lbs is harming one self, our bodies, heart and organs were not meant to carry such heavy load she is already on a scooter. Nobody is judging her, we are judging her decision to gain the weight on purpose..specially when she has a toddler and when you have a toddler and you can't physically move, that toddler is in danger. Just because some children survived much worst situations there are a lot of others who did not and those that did survived usually need professional help or never get over it. Yes God bless her and hope she wakes up from such a decision but I very much doubt that she is happy.

Agreed. All the nagging and wishing won't make a paralyzed person not be paralyzed. Its not a lack of willpower. Shame on this woman for taking a healthy body and throwing it away.

We must agree to disagree here, it does not matter if one is obese or one is in a wheelchair, you cannot say her desire to be obese makes her a bad parent, and because the other person did not want to be in the wheelchair they are not...I dont' follow the logic in that. We all have decisions to make in life, just because hers is not in line with how I live my life does not mean she is wrong and I am right...that's the way I roll...lol.

We can not come to the conclusion that anybody else (less those we don't even know) are happy or not, we do not think their thoughts, nor do we feel their feelings. She might be perfectly content with her situation. I'm just saying I refuse to judge her because she is different...boy haven't we all been there...

This reminds me of a quote from my favorite show: Futurama

Leela: "I realise now there's nothing wrong with being different."
Fry: "Leela, there's nothing wrong with anything."

The woman is eating herself into a disability. While I respect her right to do it (Live free or die!) I also will exercise my right to judge her and think she is incorrect in her decision and looks highly unattractive.
So if she chooses to become a massive blob, she should also be cognizant of the social repercussions that will come from it and accept that as well. Hope she has thick skin...heh heh.

Re: Why would somebody do that?

Oh, I have not stated to anybody that they should not voice their opinion, I simply stated that I won't judge her. She is an adult and she has to make her own decisions, we all make decisions that others disagree with, but that does not make us bad people. I'm not sure what her social responsiblity is when it comes to something as personal as her weight. I feel no social responsibility because I'm obese, I feel a personal responsibility to myself only. Again, we must agree to disagree, the beauty of living in America is that we are all allowed to be individuals, it is her body, as you have yours and I have mine, I do not wish to have anybody preach to me how I should treat it.

It's a popular fetish. "Feedee" and "feeder".

                              There are many doing it.

Imagine for a moment feeling low about yourself. Feeling unable to control your eating. Then all of a sudden someone turns you onto a group of people that LOVE you for it. They pay the biggest compliments to you, tell you how lovely you are, tell you how hot and sexy you are. Not one person call you a fat pig or other horrible names. You suddenly get ALOT of attention, many time from good looking "fit" guys. You start to feel a bit better about yourself, not such a "freak".

And then someone shows you that you can make money, sometimes ALOT of money, by just eating which you already want to do. And then while making that money eating, a group of people tell you how beautiful and sexy you are.

When you feel low and suddenly get all that "given" to you... some people take that road. Because it feel ALOT better than the road they were just on. She may also feel she is doing it to have money for her child. None of us know how she really feels, as you have one article that has been edited and one lady trying to hype her "work".
Xmas mini goal: No "x" in Xmas.

Hey! I have seen this woman on Tyra! It is disgusting for sure. Not the way she looks just the way she perceives herself as being healthy and wanting to gain more weight. She can find other ways of making money, no doubt. It is an insult to those who are actually morbidly obese and are trying to lose the weight and she is parading around (well not literally) hoping to not lose the weight. Did anyone see how depressed she was to see she was only a bit over 500 lbs?!?!?!?!?! Amazing.

Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!!
