    Hey friends,
I did get a bit off track with reading, responding, and so on. However, I have maintained my weight loss, and also believe I am losing an inches! My husband has now lost around 14 lbs and I think he is too losing inches - he looks amazing! Thanks for the great support!

    Re: Update

it's easy to get off track.. last night.. there were snack cakes in the cabinet calling my name... but i finally fought it off.. but it's been over 3 weeks for me.. and my carb cravings are still there.. they're a part of me.. and I think always will be...

so.. it's good to get back on track.. and look at the big picture.. the long haul... the big goal..

(I needed that pep talk myself )

      Re: Update

The carb cravings at this point should be mostly phsychological.

I met my wife for lunch at the grocery store she works at and while we were eating out beef sticks, cheese and veggies, she stopped to cut a carrot cake into slices for her co-workers. (You need to understand that a few weeks ago, I could have eaten the whole cake, LOL!) Neither of us were interested in the cake. She didn't even consider licking of the knife!

As you get better your cravings will decrease, but you have to stick to it until then.

      We're rooting for you both!

        Re: Update

oh I'm positive it was psychological... it was late.. i had things on my mind.. and girl scout cookies and little debbies were just looming large.... i stuck some creme cheese in a celery stick ... read some in the book (that always reinforces me some).. and then brushed my teeth for the last time..

but I honestly don't know if I'll ever stop... my hubby and i have both gained weight in our 25 years together.. but he's NEVER wanted sweets.. he will rarely want an ice cream cone...

i could eat half a huge birthday cake.. and he will pick at the icing of one piece.. i can seriously eat an entire cherry creme cheese pie.. or pumpkin pie.. or coconut pie.. he can barely eat a 2 inch sliver...

        it's wired in me.. i've always been a huge bread/sweets/rice/pasta eater.. since i was a baby.. it's a miracle i'm not bigger...

it's like an addiction i'll always fight..

          Re: Update

It is a problem. My addition WAS breads and pastas. I think the only option is to find something within the low net carb aresenal that can become your latest and greatest addiction.

I work within 2 blocks of one of my favorite Italian restaurants. My fovorit there is sgaghetti & meatballs with garlic bread. Talk about a carboholic nightmare. Now I go I get a chef salad and a meatball with cheese melted over it. (Sometimes I even skip the meatball!) But lately, I just avoid the place, because of the temptations.

          Keep fighting!
