  • fitday exercise

I've begun using fitday to count calories and it says I should aim for 1400 calorie balance. Does anyone use the exercise section of fitday. I find it confusing cos it says I burn heaps of calories doing nothing but my normal daily activities. If I just eat 1400 calories a day plus do an hour at the gym will my body go into starvation mode or will that be OK....?

At 1400 calories on average, you could be undereating (that would be my bet).

No one can tell for sure though...

Not exactly starvation mode but maybe not eating enough to get into fatburning atkins mode. Are you aiming for this amount of calories or is it just what happens after a day of eating till you are full and maybe having a snack here or there?

            Re: fitday exercise

I use it to track my exercise but don't pay any attention to the calorie counting/deficit etc. I think most of that is geared toward calorie counting diets, which Atkins is not. I do watch calories just to make sure I am not undereating.

              Re: fitday exercise

I just went with 1400 because that's what fitday told me. I was doing induction without much success so I thought I'd limit carbs AND keep an eye on cals

                Re: fitday exercise

Remember that fitday and most other calorie tracking programmes are assuming you are eating a lowfat 'diet' and are making any recommendations based on those principles.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
