    Just adding congrats on starting and on losing inches. That is a good start. It is hard to beat guys sometimes when it comes to loss but we women have tenacity - and I think in the long run that will make you pretty successful.
    Just clean it up a little bit - make sure you eat enough and stuff.
    I love that you added exercise. Your heart will be happy.

      Maybe you are like me. If I'm losing inches I won't be losing pounds and if I'm losing pounds I don't seem to lose inches. I guess my body can't multitaks it's one or the other. I'll lose a lot of inches for a few weeks then the weight will drop for a few weeks. Back and forth. Try to focus on whichever is the positive one, in your case right now the inches. Would you rather the scale showed a lower weight or you looked like you were a lower weight? In the end it will probably all even out.

      Read the ingredients on the bars, not just the information they put on the carbs etc. I read them the other day and no way are those ok if you are only eating foods allowed on the list. They were intended as emergency bars for when you were away from home and just couldn't eat anything else on plan. Since you are ditching them I think you'll see a difference this week.

        Thanks Y'all. I had a huge salad last night with steak. I couldn't finish it but it was well within 3 cups. I've got steak salad packed for lunch today & will have salad again tonight. I prefer my veggies raw rather than cooked & since Atkins does allow blue cheese dressing, I'm, loving that I get to eat my Marie's brand again. Sometimes I use plain pork rinds broken up as a kind of crouton. Is that ok?

        Also, I'm reading people speaking of net carbs once on OWL as I am. This part of the program is confusing to me. I tried reading the book but honestly, it's like trying to read quantum physics. Could someone write a short easy way for me to determine this? Much appreciated. Peace!

          Don't forget to go to the Forums area, there are stickies there regarding OWL, where people have already "summarized" . Check those out first, then you can ask a specific question after you get a little better background.

          There are some great tools here, the "forums", the "search", use them to your advantage.

            Net carbs are counted from the first day.

            Total carbs minus fiber = net carbs.
