Can someone straighten me out on the rules for artificial sweeteners?

I read on another thread that there is a limit of 3 servings a day of drinks with artificial sweeteners. I've also read that aspartame is a no-no.

    My questions:

1)Is aspartame totally forbidden, or is there just a limit of 3 servings? (I'm not a big soda drinker and never have been- but once in a while there's nothing like a cold Coke. Wondering if an occasional diet Coke is OK.)

    2) Is the limit on splenda 3 per day?

    3) What about stevia? Is there a limit on stevia? (I make my own stevia lemonade.)

    Thanks for any enlightenment.

Re: Splenda vs. Stevia vs. Aspartame

The limit is 3 servings of ANY sweetener.

Splenda is the preferred sweetener in DANDR, though DANDR says, "You must determine which artificial sweeteners agree with you, but the following are allowed: sucralose (marketed at Splenda®), saccharin, cyclamate, acesulfame-K."

Stevia is mentioned in DANDR, and at the time it hadn't been approved as a food additive. Many people prefer it, but it still comes under the limit of 3 servings per day.
