  • Who out there is a boredom eater?

That would be me by far than a stress eater. But I also eat when others are eating, therefore, I am a pressured eater.

My belly is feeling a little hungry right before bed so I aam trying to not go to the fridge. I am drinking, drinking my water and waiting for tomorrow to come so I can eat my LC pancakes. It's too late to eat otherwise my belly will hurt in the middle of the night.

Ohh, I also have to get up extra early to turn on the crock pot for ham hocks and collards. Going to be having that with some pork tomorrow night.

How I look forward to eating and not feel guilty anymore (except for when I slip and do some self bashing).

Thanks for letting me take up more space on the board.

Do they pressure you or is it your own pressure?

A piece of cheese? A few nuts?

I am a boredom eater. I open up the fridge hoping that something yummy is in there. All the yummy stuff is either for lunch, or it's off limits. So, I close the door and go to the sink and fill up my glass with water.

Re: Who out there is a boredom eater?

I stuck with a glass of water too tonight. I had extra carbs to spare but not calories. I was close to 2000 and I think anything over 1700 will keep me from losing weight.

Yes the pressure goes both ways. Let me word it different, family and friends will pressure me to eat. But when I am around others who don't pressure me to eat I get tempted. It's actually easier to eat around my family because I can tell them to eat my carbs for me ;-)

My mom still just wants me to eat whatever she puts in front of me because she thinks she is my mom and I still listen to whatever she says. She bought me v-day candy. My husband ate it all.

My dad understands as he cut his carbs last year too. I think he has fallen off the wagon so when I see him I try to talk to him about changing his habits for good.

Ok going to bed, big day ahead of me tomorrow.

But you don't really know that, right?

I guess I'm just too old ... because when that happens, I just dig in my heels and I will not be budged.

You have to believe that YOU'RE in control of what you eat ... and then you have to act on it.

I am working on my pressure issues. I have been doing pretty well although not perfect. I will never be perfect but am trying to work through my issues.

                  Amen sister.

I am trying to progress, absoluetly. I am doing better than 10 years ago at an attempt to change my life. The older I get the easier it has become. But there are my own challenges along the way.

I am the only person stopping me. Therefore I am my own worse enemy.

Re: Who out there is a boredom eater?

You name and it I used it as a reason to eat over the years. I do feel I've pretty much conquered most of those over the last few years. But I do know for me that binging is always there and I could easily slip back into that one. Not sure that is one I'll ever say I'm over. I have to treat it like any other addiction. I may be recovering but I'll never be cured. Food is something that has to be eaten, you can't just cut yourself off from it so I'll always have to be on guard old habits don't creep back in.
