    heres the deal...

    my age: 14 - height: 6'1" - weight: 250.

    About 3 days ago, something motivated me to just lose weight, and i gradually asked around my friends for help, i got some great help.

    One of my friends gave me this diet plan -

    Broccolli
    Tuna
    Chicken [ Grilled ]
    Eggs
    Ham, etc.
    And last but not least - Fat free milk

    I've been on this plan for about 3 days today. and it seem's to be working, i believe i got skinnier, i feel lighter.. but i asked my friend about that and he said it was water weight. So he said to start including eggs and ham and other meat food's in the diet so i'll do that asap.

    But i have a few questions before i continue..

    MY GOAL is atleast 180.

    - Is it okay for a 13 year old to go on atkins?

    - I feel like im losing my muscle, is that normal?

    - Should i do a little workout on the side, like he said to do jogging for 20 mins everyday b4 breakfast in the morning?

    ^ - question about that, i set my alarm for 5:00AM to go jogging, i couldnt even GET UP, i was so tired... literally, didnt go to school either.

    --- So far the good things i see about the diet, before i started the diet my mom would bring food in the house, stuff like chips iced tea, but for my sister.. because my sister is 100 pounds exact and shes 13, and shes around 5'2" so shes all set i suppose, but my mom had to HIDE food from me because i would usually eat it all, my mom is fully supporting me in the diet.. i dont know if she did this on purpose or what not, but i guess it was a good thing she did, she sorta tested me.. i woke up i couldnt go to school and she was mad at me, then i went back to sleep... i woke up and i go to the kitchen.. all over was junk food, chips iced team coke... everything you can imagine... and i just looked at it and grabbed a glass and drank a glass of fat free milk... i dont crave the junk food anymore... thats a good thing, but around 4:00pm my sister came home with a can of arizona iced tea, and there was about a little teaspoon amount left in it, so i drank it... it tasted like poison and i spit everything out. Im guessing at this point, my body is denying any of that stuff now.

    -- Questions

    Q: Im taking in about 5 carbs a DAY, i know according to atkins im supposed to take about 20.. what should i do? Should i raise the carb consumption?

    Q: How many carb's does egg's have, and if it does, how many? How should i prepare the eggs if i should eat them?

    Q: Should i allow more into the diet plan?

    Q: I drink about 2 full glasses of water, every hour or so to keep me from not going for the fat free milk, because personally i think its an overdose, should i be doing this or not?

    I'm going to let someone else fully cover this post. But yes, you need more than 5 carbs, that's just insane and unhealthy. Atkins is meant to be a healthy diet. I also heard if you eat under 15 carbs per day, you stop losing weight. Absolutley no milk, not until the dairy rung. You should add cheese in, more vegetables, different kinds of meat and drinks lots of water. Maybe try reading the acceptable food lists and the induction rules, you can do Atkins properly. And yes, exercise is a main part of any diet. Try atleast 30 minutes of exercise, it helps alot. About the muscle part, is it possible you are losing muscle. Take a vitamin, and start lifting weights to build your muscle. Good luck and any other questions, feel free to ask!

        Spend $7 and buy Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution ...

          yes at your age you can do Atkins but you should be suppervised by your doctor for any weight loss plan as you are still growing and develpoping your body and have speacail nutrient needs.

          Atkins is about eating 3 full cupd of the low glycemic ( those are the ones that don't raise your blood sugar much after eating) veggies listed, drinking lots of water to be sure you are fully hydrated, taking the supplements you need to insure your body gets what it needs based on your food choices. Atkins is about more then just protiens. You need to ask your friend where his nutritional plan came from cause that isn't Atkins.
          Exercise is a healthy part of Atkins too both aerobic and resistance exercise.

          Get the book and discuss it with your doctor.

            you'll kill yourself trying to only do 5 carbs a day.. thats just insane and very unhealthy. Your allotted 20 per day.. don't be afraid of the carbs! Well at least the ones in veggies...

            Get the book, get Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 edition. This will tell you HOW and WHY this diet works. Plus it will answer all your questions.

            Raise your carb consumption - please!

            To sum up some of your other questions though - count eggs as 1 carb per egg - and cook them how you like em! Fried, boiled, scrambled, over easy, poached, devil, etc.

            Yes you should definitely allow more into the diet plan, there is a sticky on the induction forum for acceptable foods - you can even print it up and take it with you everywhere.

            Water - you should be drinking 64 oz a day PLUS another 8 oz for every 25 lbs you want to lose. Don't forget to make sure you have plenty of toilet paper because yes, you will be going to the bathroom a lot. But water helps flush the fat out of your system so you need it!
