  • I have a lot of issues....

I have a couple of questions, I need to stop hijacking other peoples threads and make my own, so here goes.

I have been following Atkins since October 1st. I was staying in induction because I thought I had to, to lose rapidly. I lost 45 lbs.

I have been trying to get in to the OWL with not much luck, I am not hungry at all. I was wondering what to eat that has more calories than meat cheese, eggs and veg?

I also found out I drink too much water. I am always thirsty and always have been, I have always drank huge amounts of water. Should I cut down my water even if I am thirsty? Like now I just drank a quart and sat down here 10 minutes ago and I am thirsty again. That was my 4th quart today too.

I am just worried that I will not reach my goal as I have slowed on my losing. I do work out 4-5 days a week, and I have not even had one illegal carb or a tiny bit of sugar pass my lips since day one.

If anyone has tips, I would appreciate it.

I will see if I need a new goal after that one
    25 pounds to go!
    I love my water!

I guess I am getting a few more calories than I thought. I got a fitday account.

as long as your thirsty you prob should keep drinking

i find if your loseing any fat at all your going to be more thirsty cause your body needs that extra water to flush the toxins out that were stored in your fat cells

now that i have matained my weight for awhile and as long as i don't eat from the higher rungs i don't get thirsty much and don't drink as much but as soon as i eat something on a higher rung like rung 4 berries or rung 6 beans i get really thirsty again but summer times comeing up so il get thirsty from that

For some reason that link didn't work for me, Springtowry

I think that you are making the right decision to move to OWL when you are halfway to your goal weight as climbing the OWL ladder can take some time (and pounds) if you are going to test many foods on the way up the ladder.

How many calories and what sort of percentage of fat/protein/carbs are you getting on average?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

            >> I have been trying to get in to the OWL with not much luck,>>

You simply add 5 net carbs of Induction vegetables.

            >>1158 calories,>>

About 1/2 of what you should be getting.

            >> I also found out I drink too much water.>>

Don't know why you think you're drinking too much ... unless you're drinking instead of eating?

Try making that fitday public. Make sure you have checked off all the right things. It seems like right now you have not selected the public option. That can be done in the profile section of your fitday

Make sure you've made your Fitday public.

o make your Fitday public, log in, go to the Profile tab, click on the blue Public Settings Page at the bottom, click on the "Make My Journal Public" button. Then you'll get a link at the top:

                http://fitday.com/fitness/PublicJournals.html?Owner=<name of your fitday account>

                Post that here.

Someone said on another thread that 2 gallons of water a day is too much. I have always drank that much no matter how or what I was eating.

I really can't see how to possibly get more calories. I made my fitday thing public.

I know people who regularly drink that much. If it's what you've always drunk, then don't worry about it.

I just changed it to public a matter of minutes before I replied to this. It is still not public? I will have to check again.

Re: I have a lot of issues....

                            It's there now.

One thing I noticed is that it's better to log eggs as whole, raw rather than fried to get a more accurate reading on that item.

Calories look way too low. In this day's log, it appears that you prefer some of the lower fat meats (turkey bacon & turkey). There is nothing wrong with these but they are lower calorie. Do you like any of the higher calorie meats (regular bacon, beef, dark poultry possibly with skin, etc.)?

The stats for that Italian dressing look too low. I know my Italian dressing has probably double the calories because of the oil. Do you make your own or use bottled? Is that FitDay's listing or your own custom food?

Personally I would move into OWL. One way I like to up calories is to have a 1/2 Haas avocado. Nice way to get in some very healthy fats. Try some tasty sauces on your meats/veggies for more calories.

Hmmm...that's all I can think of right now. I think your food log looks pretty good...just needs a little tweaking and some more calories.

I don't eat pork so regular bacon will not cut it. I do eat a lot of beef just not on that day. I use dressing from the company my ex works for because its free.
