Hi, I've been away awhile. I had lost a lot of weight, then I went off of this way of life, and gained it back plus an extra 40 pounds
I realize now, that this is something I need to do for life. I know that if I am allowed to eat anything I want, I choose poorly. Without Atkins, I choose sugar and white flour over vegetables. I have crazy blood sugar problems, feel horrible, and gain weight at an alarming rate.
I didn't even think I could come back.....but then something wonderful happened. I quit drinking coffee. I noticed that my blood sugar started stabilizing, I was feeling somewhat better. So, then I felt strong enough to come back to Atkins, and it's been great. I have no more sugar/chocolate cravings, no more blood sugar issues, and I don't feel the need to eat constantly to bring up my blood sugar. What have I learned? I learned that Dr. Atkins knew what he was talking about. He said that we should kick our caffeine habit, and he was right!!! When I lost weight on Atkins before, I still had the blood sugar issues......not this time....no more. Quitting coffee was the trick. I already knew that sugar free soda was a problem, but I didn't know coffee was that powerful. I won't touch either anymore.
I also learned that I can live without coffee. It's a drug, and we don't need it to wake up in the morning.
I can't get over how GREAT I feel!!! I know I can lose this weight, and it won't be nearly as hard as the first time thanks to kicking coffee!!! I've been back for about a week and a half and have dropped an initial 13 pounds!!!
I'm so happy about being back and I am looking forward to getting to know all the new friends on Atkins, as well as seeing my old friends again!
So, if your still drinking coffee, and are having sugar/chocolate cravings and blood sugar issues, try kicking coffee to the curb, maybe it will help you like it did me!
