  • New member and ruined my diet :(

    Hi,

    I'm a new member and English is my second language, so u may notice it's not very well.

    I need ur advises plz. I've started with Atkins diet and lasted for 3 weeks and during this phase I took 5 discontinuous days OFF.
    I've lost 15 kg.
    I continued the same thing for 2 more days and all of a sudden I've gained 8 kg. in just 2 days!!!!!! I didn't give up and continued for 2 more days and I gained again 2 more kg



    I weighted 114 and reached 99. Now I'm almost 109

    My routine food is:

    breakfast: None

    Lunch:

    Salad with feta cheese

    snack : 1 tsp peanut butter , coffee with Seplenda sugar

    Dinner :

    Eggs with cheese and luncheon, or 2 breasts chicken with mayo, with a cup of milk and tea

    I have to say that I barely drink water and I've heard that it wrong during weight loss regime.


    Please if anybody had the same thing I've had tell me what to do!!!

    buy yourself a copy of Dr Atkins book so you will know what you are supposed to be doing and eating.

    you are consuming several not allowed foods and you are not supposed to skip breakfast. water is required at least 64 ounces a day

      If you take days off (cheat), the effect the cheats have on your weight will not necessarily appear on the scale the next day. Your weight gain is probably the result of those 5 days off.

      So... why did you take days off?

      Atkins isn't a diet you start and stop whenever you get bored. It's a way of eating of life.

      Skipping meals will not benefit you in the long term.

      What's in the salad?

      How many net carbs does it have?

      snack : 1 tsp peanut butter
      Peanut butter is not allowed on Induction.

      luncheon
      Did you read the list of ingredients? There's probably added sugar (appears on the label as sugar, dextrose, etc.)

      with a cup of milk
      Milk is very high in carbohydrates and not allowed during Induction.

          Also, how many calories are in that menu you posted?

          If you are undereating, that could slow down your weight loss as well.

          Other than calories, one thing you're undereating is vegetables. Over half of your daily net carbs should come from them.

            The salad contains lettuces, 1tomatoes , 1cocumber, rocket, onion, olive oil, salt

                Are you counting the net carbs in these?

                You can use FitDay to track your net carbs: FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal

                FitDay shows grams of carbohydrate and grams of dietary fiber, and to calculate net carbs you need to subtract dietary fiber from carbohydrate. It's net carbs that count and those need to be limited to no more than 20 g per day, with over half of them coming from vegetables.

                    Are you cheating because you don't like the foods you have on Atkins?

                    Are you cheating because you are hungry?

                      according to the BMI calculators you are already underweight at 109 pounds. Have you discussed your desired weight loss with your doctor?

                            Reading the book will definitely help you.

                            The book we follow at ADBB is the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution.

                              I'm 109 Kg. it's almost 246 in pound

                              sorry 4 the confusion
