    Bacon:

Ok I am so used to Low Cal diets. I feel horrible even eating bacon. Today I had a total of 5 pieces of bacon. 3 at breakfast and two that went along with dinner. Is this too much a day? Its completely organic and is nitrate free and sugar free. The book says have at her but I see people on the boards here say limit it. Which one is it?

    Time:

Now I know weightloss is different for everyone but I was wondering how long a solid 40 Pds. takes to get rid of?

    Thanks,

    -Derek-

Bacon is fine and there's no limit set on it. Since bacon is high in sodium, some people who are more sensitive to sodium might choose to limit it.

What are the ingredients in the bacon you have?

      YIKES! Ughhhhh!!!

I just looked at the ingredients and there was a no no; however, on the nutrition facts it doesnt list sugars.

      They are:

pork, water, sea salt, CANE SUGAR, Natural Flavors, Lactic Acid starter culture

You always need to read the ingredients, too.

I wouldn't eat a lot of bacon daily, but many people are fine eating bacon cured with sugar. You will need to see how it works for you.

I went on over to fitday and I only took in 13 Carbs today. I love chicken and steak so this diet is so easy for me. I think I will just look into turkey bacon. Thank you so much for all the help.

Are those net carbs? FitDay shows total carbs, so don't forget to subtract the grams of dietary fiber to get net carbs.

What vegetables (and in what amounts) did you have?

              Re: Bacon and time

I've lost my taste for fatty bacon when I was on WW. Got use to turkey bacon so if I eat it now that's what I eat. DH eats regular bacon (not nitrate or sugar free) and has no problems. It will just depend on how your body reacts to it.

As far as 40lbs it's hard to say. Someone who has a lot to lose may lose 40lbs quickly. If that's all you have to lose it could take quite a while. It's a toss up, you may be a lucky one and drop it right off.

                Re: Bacon and time

I've lost 39 lbs since November '09. I have 6 lbs left to go.

Note: I didn't start dieting until January of this year. I was 219 lbs when I weighed in for a weight loss competition (which I won).

                      Re: Bacon and time

I listen to the book and "have at her". I easily eat twice the amount of bacon in a day the you ate today.

I do that for a reason, though. Beyond breakfast foods, I find it hard to get in enough fat and this is a high fat diet. So I've got to eat as many fats as I can where I can.
