      Re: Atkins Slammed Once More

I did an OOPS! If Rhonda is on here, She made a statement about the authors quote of Atkin's critics stating that before they cut carbs they should be cutting sweets, cakes, soft drinks, etc.

At first I put an entry about Rhonda, then re-read it, she was making fun of them, so I corrected my mistake.

Unfortunately, the author and/or Atkin's critics apparently have no idea what a carb is.

Again, if Rhonda is in here... Sorry kiddo, I got excited and charged ahead.

If any one noticed there is also a thumbs up or down poll of the article above the title. So far, 1 down, 0 up. Don't forget to vote!

the melted (and slightly burned) cheese left in the pan

You can do that in the microwave, and while it's soft, drape it over a bowl. When it cools, you can put a taco salad in it. Seasoned meat, lettuce, olives, tomato, dressing, hot chiles, sour cream....

It wouldn't let me post my comment. I was going to say:
This article is simply ones, uneducated, opinion. Perhaps before writing an entire article on a topic, one may want to, first, educate themselves on the topic in which they are writing. I think the weight loss and health benefits of Atkins speak for themselves in the true followers of this way of eating.

                            Re: Atkins Slammed Once More

Funny. I wonder what the hunter / gatherer ancestor would have thought about that article. C, I have pulled pages of research docs, citations, etc. on low carb diets. Tons of blood lips N = x groups, etc.

Low carb is the way to go. I'd like to see that nutritionist squat 1.5 X's her body weight on the back squat.

About active, endurance, etc. I have averaged 19.6 miles the last 6 days doing interval cardio (power walking, jogging, then sprinting up a ramp that crosses the Palmetto expressway here in Miami). I strength train, every other week, with a full body HIT workout. Three sets per body part (M W F). The week I do not HIT train, I do a standard split (M T W F).

I stagger my caloric intake. I go as low as 1500 cal (6.29 kJ) up to 8000 cal (33.49 kJ) per day.

Why do people slam Atkins without citing any research docs?
