  • Finally losing some weight :)

After a year of thyroid issues and an autoimmune diagnoses, things have finally stabilized, and I have actually lost weight.
I had regained 30 of the 50 pounds I lost, and was in deep despair. It's hard to stay on track when you gain weight no matter what. How do you stay out of the brownies, when it doesn't matter what you eat?

Anyway, I've lost 11 pounds in the last 6 weeks or so. I am so glad to be back!

great job. are you monitoring your thyroid hormone levels so you can keep your levels inside normal for you as you progress? I had to have mine adjusted several times during my atkins weight loss and twice in maintnenance.

Well the thyroid has been wacked out since 1986, but this past year it developed into full fledged Hashimoto's, and it couldn't figure out what it wanted to do. I tried 4 different levels of 3 different medications before it settled down. I was also diagnosed with Sjogrens, which is a cousin to lupus, so some of the fatigue was caused by that instead of the thyroid.

Getting exercise is tough. I worked out every day of our 2-week spring break, doing cardio and pool stuff. But back in school, I'm up before 6, home at 5--and right now is pollen/dust/windy season (30mph+ every day) so outside walking is impossible. I'm doing calisthenics every day for now.
