  • Rung mix up...

    Alright here I go....
I am about to get some people angry but I have kind of mixed up the rungs to my own preference.
I for one month stuck to veggies and high fat and protein. Well I've begun to want more! So even though it's not right I kind of mixed it up. Last week I added some nuts ( not really into dairy) and this week I've tried berries. I've done this carefully and not over indulged, but I felt my body needed more. I've mixed things up...but since doing so the scale actualy moved!
While I sat at 6 lbs in a month I added berries and almonds and dropped 4 lbs.
So maybe my body was craving natural carbs or maybe I will pay in the end for making my own rule, what I do know is that I don't feel guilty and I feel better than ever.
Has anyone else mixed things up? I am now at 142 and hoping for more!
Any feedback even if critical is welcome,
    jules

Jules, I wouldn't necessarily look at what you did as "mixing up" the rungs. I look at it this way - hopefully, you're getting sufficient veggies in your menu (Rung 1). You're not into dairy, so you skipped Rung 2 (nothing wrong with that - many people have dairy issues). Nuts is Rung 3, and berries are Rung 4. Sounds like you're progressing up the rungs to me. Good for you, for not fearing OWL!

I agree sounds like you moved on right on plan. Skipping rungs is allowed, you don't have to add in dairy or alcohol, nuts etc. Skip the ones you don't like. I skipped the cheese rung and went to nuts, now on berries. Although I rarely have nuts or berries I can if I want to.

I skipped rung 5. I also have went backwards and adding things from a rung I had already done because when I was on that rung I didn't want it but now I do.

Yes, you are doing just as Dr Atkins hoped, Jules by working your OWL ladder climbing to suit your tastes!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
