  • What I find interesting...

I have not been on in a few days. There has been no point in complaining about weight loss that wasn't going to happen on TOM. But to my surprise this morning I lost in the middle of TOM and down another 2 oz. I will take what I can get.

But what I find interesting is I put on a pair of work pants that fit before I started again in January. Now they fit but they pulled at the inner thigh and outer thigh and didn't look professional enough to wear to work because of the pulling of the fabric.

I put those suckers on this morning for the first time and they are close to falling off! I can't believe it. I must be losing inches before the scale shows it. I have like 1/2 inch on both legs of fabric and in the crotch area. And they used to be tighter around the belly and of course they are sitting lower on my hips.

I have a feeling that I will end up being heavier than I thought. My smaller clothes are fitting at a higher weight then I expected. I am still only at 136 lbs but when I was working out I could only get into a size 6 below 135 lbs. Now all my size 8's fall off of me and I have to roll up my pants. People at work make fun of me.

This is the reason I don't have a goal. I don't know at what point I will stop the weight loss. But I am close to seeing the light.

Did anyone else stop higher than their projected goal weight because they got into the size they wanted?

    Thanks for listening

At least you're seeing in real life what a lot of us have been trying to tell you ... that the number on the scale doesn't tell the whole tale!

      Great shrinking going on!!

Many Atkineers report this phenomenon of fitting into smaller clothes than they did at the same weight pre-Atkins!!

This is why a goal weight doesn't really mean much on Atkins, better to aim for a goal shape/size!

Thanks, and sometimes people don't know what weight they want to be at until they get there.

I had no idea I would be losing inches like this before pounds. The proof is in the pants.

I am still not where I want to be but I am very close to the size I want to be. It's very interesting since I am a believer of past behavior predicts future behavior. I just assumed I wouldn't be in my size 6's until I got below 135. That was my past behaviour.

It's a great relief to understand it now. It takes time and proof that it's not all about the scale.

I think the proof is what's no longer in the pants! Way to go!

I agree things fit differently. I am 4'11" and still in the 140's and wear a size 6. But I (in my head anyways) dont' look as good as I have in the past in the low 140's. Things just aren't where they use to be and I think I will actually have to go lower on my goal weight to look good to me. I was thinking actual goal would probably be around 130 since I was 128 when DH and I got married and I looked great, not a bit of chub or tummy at that weight. But now I don't think 130 is going to look very good if 143 still looks this bad LOL

Poobears, I understand completely. What's funny is I can fit into most size 6's and even 1 size 4. But today I went to Old Navy and bought size 6 shorts and they were a little snug still. Yep, 136 lbs is not where I want to be. I don't know where I want to be. Maybe 131? We'll see.

my ABSOLUTE goal is 118... but I've got a feeling I'll get to some weight below 150 and think it's ok... my husband thinks I'm crazy to want to be below 135 again.. (I was 105 when we married and he said I looked like a 'rail buzzard'

Peyton how tall are you? All I know is at 5'6" 118 would be underweight for me.

I think goal will be when I can fit into those size 6's comfortably that I just bought. Not sure exactly how many lbs it will take, atleast 3, I know that.

                        Re: What I find interesting...

I completely understand. I soooo badly wanted to get below 140. I do hope you get to 118. And at 5'4" I think that's a good weight.

I think I am selling myself short on my weight loss goals. I don't want to have such a low number that's not attainable. Of course I can get to any weight I want without eating, but I obviously like and want to eat to live. And sometimes I still eat to eat, but that's few and far between.

I am taking it pound by pound right now since I am pretty happy with myself now.

The scale is finally catching up. I lost 1.4 lbs in 4 days! But I know I will stall again for a little while.......that's ok. I still feel great.
