So... last night hubby decides it will be take out night, and wants chinese food. I looked at the menu and they had a diet section which had steamed veggies and chicken, cooked in no oil with no sauce (I know I could have made something more tastey but my husband insisted I order something). So I think I'm doing great... I ate half last night and brought the other half today for lunch... It has all kinds of veggies I'm not suppose to eat!!!! Carrots, water chestnuts, snap peas, baby corn (I don't know what they really are, that's what I call them). It honestly did not even occur to me last night!!! I don't know what the **** was going through my head last night (Obviously nothing)!! I noticed today as soon as I opened the container. I picked out the chicken and broccoli and ate that today, but I just can't believe I didn't pay attention!!!

I agree, don't beat yourself up over it. Chinese is a major weakness for me, too and trying to find "allowable" foods at a Chinese resteraunt isn't easy because of the hidden stuff you don't think of. Even the innocent looking terriaki (sp) chicken has sugars in the sauce but you don't think about it until you put it in your mouth and go, "oops, sweet!". I doubt you ate enough to derail your efforts and the next time, you'll be alert to what's in what you don't fix yourself. Yes, indeed, forge ahead. The only real mistake is the one from which you learn nothing.

I agree, don't beat yourself up. Just start back on your regular eating regimen again. What kind of sucks is that you probably would have rather have made something at home, but oh well. At least it was good!
Now back to work!

Re: I feel so stupid!!!
You shouldn't feel stupid! The other day I was thinking to myself "hmm, what can I make that is sweet where I can replace sugar with splenda" and decided that pancakes would be a good idea. Luckily it (eventually) clicked that pancakes have flour in them! DUH!
Keep doing it! I am new here and feel so blessed to have people around me that are in the same boat! Lets do it!
