  • question for not2late about rll recipe

    Hello
I was copying the recipe of revolution rolls and in the ingredients it doesn't say anything about splenda but in the directions it says add cream cheese and splenda to egg yolks. Do we add splenda? Thanks

The recipe calls for a packet of Splenda (I'll add that into the ingredients. Thanks for picking up that typo. :hug) If you want to add it, you can. I think it tastes better if you add a 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder instead. That little bit of onion powder gives it a slightly savory taste (not oniony at all) instead of a slightly sweet taste----sweet tasting bun doesn't go well with a burger or grilled chicken sandwich imo.

You can add dried herbs and spices of your choice too. Just adjust the carb count for whatever you put in.

By the way, you can bake them in a muffin tin (really grease the tin well) for a "dinner roll" type thing. Or if you can get a hold of a muffin top pan you'll be able to make uniform hamburger "buns". A muffin top pan is a special baking pan. Atkins.com used to sell them, I'm not sure if they still do.
