I was taking benefiber before restarting atkins "for the 2ed time" I kept using it into induction. I'm day 8 into induction with only a 4 pound loss. The last time 2007 I started atkins i lost 12 pounds my 1st two weeks. This time i'm drinking MUCH more water, as i'm sure my 12 pound loss was water in 2007. I'm wondering if the benefiber is throwing things off?. Is benefiber okay? I know we need a fiber suplement on atkins. My Benefiber say's it sugar free. I'm not too worried about the 4 pound loss i know my body might be all a wack "from 2 months of doing alli diet which was a total WASTE OF TIME. I'm back to what i know works!. I lost 75 pounds on atkins 2007-2008. Alli diet was not for me.

Re: benefiber?
As far as I can tell, the Benefiber should be just fine. In fact, I might look into that myself, although it says it has 15 calories per serving and I can't figure out where they would be coming from.
I think the bigger issue -- that all of us that come back to Atkins have -- is comparing our stats the 2nd (3rd, 4th, etc) time to the first time. There are simply too many variables that differ between our efforts to expect the same results every time. In my current effort, I am (trying) to accept that I "know" this is the best eating plan for me regardless of weight loss speed, and therefore I need to stick with it for life. If I succeed in that, the weight will most certainly come off before I quit.
On a side note, I think 4 pounds in a week is not too bad (WOOT!). And if you are coming to Atkins again straight from a "failed" attempt on Alli, it may be that you already lost several water pounds from Alli. Regardless, there's certainly no reason to get discouraged over 4 pounds lost in the first week!

Re: benefiber?
Benefiber is fine to take.
We don't "need" a fiber supplement. I never took one. Just ate my veggies, ate my fat, drank my water, did my exercise... and never had "issues".I know we need a fiber suplement on atkins.
What are the ingredients? My Benefiber say's it sugar free.
And it's not something one follows for life.Alli diet was not for me.
I hope you'll make Atkins your way of eating for life this time.
They are coming from carbohydrates. On American labels, all carbohydrates (incl. fiber) have calories.Originally posted by LateNiteDiner View Postit says it has 15 calories per serving and I can't figure out where they would be coming from."Get action. Re: benefiber?
Thanks for the replies!. I do plan to view atkins as a way of eating for life. I had GREAT success on atkins in 2007. I was foolish when I got near goal I got board and started eating my old ways now i'm carring around my old weight again. Lesson learned I am coming back with knowledge I did not have the 1st time "which is this WAY OF EATING is forever". Anyhow in atkins book he suggest using psylium fiber and a multi-vitamin and mineral without iron. I already know i will be happier and thinner I know What not to do this time around. I am thinking of cutting out the benefiber still looking to get a solid answer on if it's okay?

Re: benefiber?
Is it sweetened with anything? If so, then it has to be counted against your 3 servings of sweetener per day.
Yes, it's find to take, though I would rather have a flax muffin.
Keep in mind that a fiber supplement can have the opposite effect you're looking for, and you need to drink extra water.J.

Re: benefiber?
Muffin in a Minute
Serving Size: 1
1/4 cup flax meal (8.09 total carbs, 7.6 fiber) (30 g)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder (0.64 net carbs)
1 packet splenda packet (0.9 net carbs)
1 teaspoon cinnamon (1.84 total carbs, 1.2 fiber)
1 large egg (0.6 net carbs)
1 teaspoon butter
(total carbs is 12.07, fiber is 8.8; net carbs is 3.27)
Put the dry ingredients in a coffee mug.
Stir.
Then add the egg and the butter. Mix.
Microwave 1 minute (or more). Take out. slice, butter, eat.
Set the mug to soak.
Cream cheese would go nicely, too.
The shape of this can be changed by making it in a bowl.
It can be "toasted" once it's cooked.
The cinnamon can be replaced.J.
