  • Ok....

.....it's been a tough day keeping away from carbs. Did take a little lick of the cookie dough bowl but hoping it was not enough to knock me off the track. I had lots of water and protein and veggies and rode my bike 5 miles tonight. Hope I can keep this up! Encouragement please?!!?

You're fine, but NO MORE COOKIE DOUGH! But seriously, you are doing better than me with all that exercise, and besides the lick of the cookie dough, everything else looks great!

What was tough about the day?

Did licking the cookie dough make things better?

        Re: Ok....

first make sure you accept that licking that cookie dough was not acceptable and that you cheated on your diet and it won't really work if you keep doing that

but after accepting and knowing that il give encouragement

          Re: Ok....

Taking even a taste of the cookie dough would have been tragedy for me. I find it best to simply not take the first taste. "Oh, I'll just have ONE piece of Dove." Well, nothing like whetting the appetite! Now I have a craving and it's going to make me miserable all day wanting that second, third or fourth taste/piece/lick. Some people can do "just one", but I find it best not to tease temptation. Cold turkey is tough, but it's effective. One reason Induction is what it is, is to break things like sugar addiction. Is it hard? You bet. Is it doable? You bet. And gets easier the longer you stick to it until one day, you don't even crave it and even a taste is so sweet you wonder how you ever drank 2 liters of Coke a day! Yeah, my own story but lets you know you are not alone.

Every day, strive to do better. And remember, the only real mistake is the one from which you learn nothing. Learn anything today?
          Drink more water!

You're fine! Keep it up. Just as long as you get back up when you fall, that is all that counts. Don't fall everyday, that could be detrimental. You feel guilty, I can tell, and that's a good feeling to have when you cheat.

right now... I'm putting off walking... and fighting the urge to put my hamburger in a big soft tasty sesame seeded fun bun... but instead.. I'm going to go melt a hunk of cheese on it... eat a pickle or 3.... and be happy... I hope...

Sugar is the hardest thing in the world for me to give up... that's why i know it's exactly what needs to go!
