      On topic...I prefer to read paper over a computer screen too. I waste many a tree printing docs to read at work instead of staying paperless.

        I was digging through my clothes the other day and found some pants I have not worn in a looooong time. When I last wore them I didn't think I was very fat. I decided to try them on, I got them up and zipped and buttoned. Tight yes but on. They are a 16, I am still an 18 but I will soon be a 16. I was quite pleased with myself.

        35, 5'10 1/2
        start weight 280
        lost 65 pounds
        goal weight 190, for now
        I will see if I need a new goal after that one
        25 pounds to go!
        I love my water!

          because I'm a liar. My 2 year old son wouldn't go to sleep without his Curious George book but I couldn't find it. SO, after turning the lights off I told him I'd get it for him and I grabbed a random book that was about the same size and gave that to him. It was too dark for him to really see the difference so he was happy, and I was happy because he went to sleep, but deep in my soul I know I lied to him so....my pants are on fire.

            I do that often! lol what they don't know wont hurt them...until morning when its light outside. LOL

              For me that wouldn't really qualify as a random thought, its more of a constant thought.

              Random thought: I regularly leave books in the breakroom when I'm done with them. They disapear almost immediately, like disturbingly fast in some cases, I assume someone is taking them home to enjoy them and that thought makes me happy. Yesterday I left a book in the usual spot and it's still there - is there something wrong with this particular book that I can't see? Does the book feel bad that no one wants it? Hmmmmmm

                  Random Thought....why do guys feel the need to crank loud music in small rusty cars?! Does it make them feel manly that they have LOUD SPEAKERS...or is it to disguise the rust falling off their car?

                    JaxMama - I just finished Stephen Johnson's The Invention of Air. That was so good I'm now starting his book The Ghost Map.

                    Jules - Their mothers didn't give them enough attention and they try to fill that void in their hearts by drawing attention to themselves. Unfortunately their low self esteem causes them to lack the stick-to-it-iveness that would help them get a better paying job that would allow them to draw attention to themselves the way people of affluence do (big chuncky gold watches and nice cars) so they make up for it by buying the one thing they can afford that they feel will do the job: loud stereos with booming base. Don't be angry with them, pity them.

                            When folks say Atkins is expensive, it's true! I keep having to buy new clothes because the old ones keep getting too big!!
                            Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"
                            STAC Restart: 1/05/09
                            306/229/135 ~ 5'2" 77 lbs down!
                            Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
                            Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!
                            Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
                            Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
                            Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!
                             Female/Hypothyroidism/Arthritis/Fibromyalgia - If I can lose weight on this, so can you!
