I am a huge history buff. I LOVE to read about ancient times, cultures, religion and beliefs etc. I always used to laugh about the 2012 "superstition" and say, ya right...those mayans must of been on some sweet lsd! Lol
I just look at the predictions, and all of the "natural disasters" in the last 5 years, it is quite interesting and somewhat unsettling but again I can't base my belief of a 2500 year old calendar!

Salem.. my nephew is 16 now.... but about 5 years ago.. when so many of the apocalypse movies were coming out... he got too worried about all this... I had to have a serious talk with him....

he kept saying things that let me know he was taking this thing for real....

well.. he's 16 now... has his truck.. and has girlfriends.... I dont' think he loses too much sleep over it now...

but it was a bad thing for him for a while

It is and has been a crazy thing for many children! They talk about these things in school and its not healthy for children growing up thinking they are not "safe" glad he got over it!

My girlfriend hates the sight and taste of mayonnaise. I've put it in 2 dishes in the past week and haven't told her. She hasn't even noticed.

                    Nooooo!

I can't speak for other mayohaters, but just the thought of someone doing this to me makes me vomit - seriously.

If my husband did this to me, I would lose a lot of trust in him and our relationship just wouldn't be the same

A couple recipes I used called for mayo mixed in with sour cream and/or parmesan for a topping. Sour cream and parmesan mixed together kind of have that salty taste that mayo has, so it blends in. I needed the mayo for consistency reasons so I kept it in there and she ate it with no issue.

It's only mayonnaise. I find it hard to believe that an entire marital relationship could change based on mayonnaise. My g/f doesn't like it and that's fine. She doesn't have to eat the tuna salad or egg salad I make where that's one of the main ingredients. The recipes I've been using are calling for 1/4 cup. In a large casserole, that's a pretty small and unnoticeable amount.

She's not allergic to it or anything, she just claims she hates it. But what she doesn't know won't, and doesn't hurt her in this case since she raves about most of the stuff I've been making.

I'm not doing it maliciously. It makes the food taste better, lol.

A lot of people don't like fish. But I've seen plenty of people eat tilapia without knowing it was fish and say it was great.

HA! No, I wouldn't do it to be mean, but as you say if its in there and really gives that smoother texture then yes, I would try to feed it to him. As for the tuna/egg salads, he just doesn't eat them which is fine with me - more for me!
