  • Jimmy Moore's Eggfest - what do you think?

He dropped 27 lbs in 30 days and according to his blog it allowed him to 'reset' his body. He at 6-12 eggs a day, tablespoon of butter with each meal and 2 oz cheese daily. Might seem extreme but sometimes extreme sounding things work for some people, right? I know for a fact I thought Atkins was a crazy diet when I first heard of it, and now I feel it is just the right thing to do.

Well the one good thing he gained from it (in addition to losing weight) was that he says he managed to lose his 'need' for sweetened diet sodas and the many frankenfood bars and shakes he had got into the habit of eating/drinking and recommending as being helpful from what reports I have heard about his latest blogs on the subject.

So it seems to have got him back into the natural food, high fat/medium protein/low carb frame of mind that we follow on ADBB.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I lost that much in a month on standard 2002 Atkins, so it's not a big deal. I agree wholeheartedly with the hotness who is Elizellen.

Re: Jimmy Moore's Eggfest - what do you think?

I was wondering if this had been discussed over here. I don't follow Jimmy that closely and I wasn't aware that he had become a bars and shakes junkie. Does anyone know how much of that stuff he was eating?

I was just thinking about his all-egg diet today and wondering if I could do it (hypothetically, since I have no intention of doing so). I love eggs above almost all other Atkins-friendly food, but I think this sort of extreme diet would test that love.

When I'm coming off a cheat, I do an all egg fast for 2 days and it gets my cravings under control faster then induction. I think I'd miss veggies if I did it any longer though

Re: Jimmy Moore's Eggfest - what do you think?

I have the utmost respect and admiration for Jimmy Moore. When I read about his EggFest, I immediately thought, "This is not for me." My health is just starting to come back and for me it would be too extreme.

Jimmy, however, is an uber lowcarber and knows a LOT about various low carb plans including Atkins. IMO he has the knowledge and low carb experience to try such a plan.

My main thought when following his EggFest journey on his blog and discussion board is that many people (newbies) will try this and I personally think that it could be dangerous for them and teach them nothing about how to do low carbing correctly.
Jimmy does know and hopefully will get back to his regular good habits again after the EggFest. I'm routing for him!

I just LOVE how you put that, Cleo. It sounds like a regal title or something. A lovely description of a lovely lady. Are you blushing yet, Elizellen?

My Severe Hyperinsulinemia Has Mandated I Go On A High-Fat, Low-Carb ‘Eggfest’ Jimmy Moore's Livin' La Vida Low Carb Blog

I've been fighting with my insulin resistance now since mid February. I've been going over and over the chapter on the fat fast. Seeing Jimmie's plan and knowing how much I love eggs, butter and cheeze, I may try the fat fast, although I would be more inclined to add some other sources of fat, such as avocados.

I think I need to digest his blog first and then one more time go back and read up on the fat fast again.

I think that as a famous lowcarber he became a target for all the lowcarb manufacturers and was sent loads of products to review so ended up using many of them in his daily way of eating.
