    Re: Mayonnaise on Induction?

    Welcome to ADBB!

Mayonnaise is fine on Induction. It's specifically mentioned in the Rules of Induction.

Yes, there are ones without sugar. However, the sugar in brands such as Hellmann's and Kraft are trace and shouldn't be a problem.

It's not 0 carbs. According to the Dr. Atkins carb counter book, it's 0.1 net carb per Tbs.

Hellmans in UK (where the nutrition numbers are given per 100 mls or 100 grams) has 0.2 carbs per flat tablespoon.
The US version might have different ingredients so its carb count might differ.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Can I suggest you make your own. A few reasons, It taste better than store bought, it's simple, you know exactly what in it, it's cheaper than store bought.

For a simple formula you need

1 egg yoke from a large egg
1 short cup of oil(plane oil like canola oil)
2 tea spoons of white vinigar
            salt and pepper to taste
            optional powered mustard

IF you have a food processer first put the egg yoke in and pulse till it's light yellow. just a couple of seconds is all it takes.
2nd turn on to high and start to trickle the oil in letting the yoke absorve it slowly.
3rd about have way thru the oil add the vinigar and mustard powder(a pinch will do)
4th add the rest of the oil slowly until its all absorbed
5th add salt and pepper to your personal taste( I use fresh ground white pepper and sea salt, you can use what ever you want.)

Easy peasy. No carbs. good for 10 days in the fridge.

Don't know if it's available where you live, but I buy Duke's mayo (I'm in Virginia), it is completely sugar free and delicious!

This isn't, as David says, "no carbs". Eggs have carbs, pepper has carbs, and mustard has carbs.
