Sorry for the long-winded post... warning in advance....
I have been on Atkins over a year and STILL not sure what is causing cravings. I use alot of spices and onions when cooking almost daily. I mix my meat and veggies when cooking, except salads. I use no prepackaged anything! I have not had any cravings really for over a week and was thinking this may just be it... Then I fixed Shrimp salad...
Shrimp ( raw and I cooked myself )
mayonnaise
a little bit of cut up onion (1/8 of a medium one)
1 stalk of celery cut up
black pepper
Mixed all together and ate with some cream cheese....
Now, to be honest I had tasted it without the cream cheese and "felt" that "I must eat myself another bite, that was good" feeling, but since I was planning to eat, didn't really examine it to closely until now that I'm about to eat out myself out of house and home.
I'm not sure what is causing my cravings, but for sure 100% it is chemical and not sure emotional like I usually think it is. I am emotionally great for a change and have been reading some books to self help myself with that... I literally Felt it when eating and still feel it... Not in my head!!!
How do I start at the beginning? Really I feel I need to eat Meat, olive oil/butter, and of course I know veggies, but I'm not sure which ones. (In some how ashammed to admit, but honest is honest.. over the past 1.5 week I have had almost NO Vegetables and felt so much more control over my cravings (even if I chose to eat an off plan food, it wasn't like I felt I needed the whole gallon of ice cream like before)...
So to conclude:
Which of the items caused the craving... onion, celery, mayonnaise, shrimp, or black pepper?
Next How do I do a total food evaulation to see what foods I'm sensitive too? Can I eat 3 cups of the same veggies or say 15 net carbs from the same veggie day after day to see? I really need some major help.
