  • Shakes and bars

I was wondering if these are actually beneficial in any way during the Atkins' Diet. I know I can't have them during boot camp cuz they have sweetener in them, but on a normal day, I always found them to be a convenient on-the-go snack, especially to take to work. All thoughts are welcome...thanks.

Beneficial? Well, a bar can be handy if you're in a place where there's absolutely no other food choices. They can be handy for emergencies. As a snack to take to work, you could do better.

The bars stall many ... do you want to take the risk you're one of the many?

No they are not beneficial. They are very sweet and contain not legal ingredients (the bars do). So you are better off if you can plan your food without them. Maybe just for an emergency.
So many us find that they stall us so I would really recommend waiting with including them.

I feel that apart from the ingredients of the bars not being induction-friendly, a chocolate bar is a chocolate bar to me, not a food replacement.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

That was a problem I constantly ran into whether on WW or Atkins. The bar supplements were just poor replacements for candy bars. They give you just enough of a hint of sweetness (even if artificially accomplished). I would buy a box of six and end up eating them before the afternoon was over. The end result for me was the burning desire to go out and find a really good candy bar. That certainly doesn't help me or my diabetes.

I finally had to conclude that the bars are just as evil (for me) as going out and getting my favorite types of chocolate candy bars. The end result has been a chocolate free lifestyle since the beginning of the year.

The shakes weren't as bad for me, but they tend to be a messy pain. My wife and I were supplementing out diet with whey protein shakes. At some point I simply stopped making them. Not even sure why, but I don't need them.

I don't like to use the bars. They stall me.
The shakes, I can drink maybe 2 a week. They are good for breakfast when I have 2 meetings before school even starts, and I'm out the door at 7 am. But otherwise, it's eggs.
