  • What's the difference.....

....between the red-covered 2002 edition DANDR and the white-covered 2002 (2003) edition? Is it just the paperback/hardcover thing or is there additional info in one?

I just got the white-covered hardback. I had previously read the 1972 edition and the 1997 version that he issued with all those commercials showing him in a restaurant eating lobster and butter....and I must say--the '02 version is excellent at explaining the research. The additional chapters were really well done and the addition of the key points and summary at the end of each chapter are very helpful. I wish he had really overhauled his index, though...I find it a little sparse....
anyway--I just wanted to know if there was something I'm missing.....

I think they are both the same book, from what others have said.

My hard cover book is white -- my soft cover book is red -- they are both the 2002 versions.

Well, in chapter 18 of the hard cover book, the menus for the first week of Induction are more 1999 than they are 2002. It seems that the editing of the hardcover wasn't as careful as it might have been.

It's even been stated (on this forum) that there's two versions of Induction in the 2002 book ... the Chapter 11 version and the Chapter 18 version.

My advice ... go with Chapter 11.

Yeah--I thought the ch. 18 version was for "jump starting" wt. loss--and it didn't make too much sense to me, either.

Would it be worth it to explore both books????

Only if you want to proof read to see what the exact differences are, word for word. Or if you want a collection.

I've done just fine with my white hard cover.
