my typical day would be a 3 egg omelette with 1 cup of diced pepper and onion and 2 strips of low sodium bacon. for lunch i have been mixing it up. some days i will do 2 cheeseburgers with a cup of broccoli or sausage peppers and onions. dinner has been either burgers or steak or ribs or chicken wings with a cup of brocolli or asparagus. i keep a case of water at work and drink 5 16 oz bottles a day here. plus i take in about 50 ounces every morning in the gym and then whatever i drink at home at night. i totally eliminated coffee. i was never a coffee guy so that was easy. i would have 1 cup here and there in the morning. luckily i have always enjoyed water. even when not dieting. i don't drink any diet soda or juice of any kind. for the past 30 days and most of my life it is water. just in the last month i have really stepped up the amount.

i am training 6 days a week in the gym. the past month has been mostly cardio. we have been running 4 miles in just over 45 minutes every day or we substitute that with 20 miles on the bike which takes roughly 52 minutes. also to switch it up 1 day a week i will bust off an hour on the elliptical machine.

i am just down because i have been waking up at 4 am every day to be in the gym by 5. i spend 1-/2 to 2 hours a day in the gym and felt my diet was money. i couldn't be more shocked than i was this morning when i got on that scale.
That is awesome! did you know it took me 3 months to make it to 1 hour on the elliptical machine without feeling like my heart was going to come out of my chest? I also did the 6 days a week 2 hour gym thing but I could not do 1 hour in that darn machine so I started doing 5 minutes extra until I could do it. Don't give up you are on your way to greatness!

      Re: Disappointed after induction

1)I just wanted to give you something else to think about... When I first started working out at the gym for the first 2 weeks, my weight increased by like 5-7 pounds... DID YOU SEE THAT... INCREASED!!!! I'm not sure why but the body will hold on to water when you first start working out.

2)Possibly take some L-glutamine after your workout and before bedtime. It is really great at rebuilding and recovering your muscles and since you are working out 6 days a week, I think your trainer may even agree, mine did!

      3) Are you sure you are getting enough FAT??? Yes, FAT??? Your veggies and things are fine and I'm almost positive your few slips was no fall by any means... so I would consider the fat though, it is really important.

      4) LASTLY, YOU HAVE DONE GREAT!!!! Just like the other poster who mentioned 15 pounds this month and then times 12... it is that pound after pound that adds up... believe me, you can't imagine how many times I fall off the wagon because of disappointment in it not happening fast enough.. I now stay off the scale and honestly, in some how hope I do FOREVER or atleast until I don't give it so much importance. Improvements in my mood, physical abilities, and health should be way more important!!!

      Keep going...
      ~Amanda
It is okay if it takes me a little longer to get there, besides this is where I'm going to stay forever and that is a really long time!!!

        Re: Disappointed after induction

Bravo on the 15lbs lost! Don't get discouraged. I've been faithfully on Atkins for 2 1/2 months & have only lost 12lbs. However, I've lost a whole lot of inches. So much so that people are beginning to comment & it makes me feel great! I'm done comparing myself to everyone else including my hubby who dropped 20lbs quickly. I figure if the weight comes off slowly, I'm more likely to keep it off. Stick with it. It works. Peace!

First of all, congrats, you are doing great! I'd LOVE to average a half a pound a day in losses!!

Second, the part of your diet I quoted above caught my attention. Assuming that cup of diced peppers and onions is about 50/50, that's 13 carbs right there! It could be that your carb count is too high at the end of the day. That may be why you didn't lose as much as you had expected.

But still, 15 pounds is really very, very good! Think about the typical weight loss plan that doctors recommend, which is no more than 2 pounds a week, or 8 pounds a month, and on Atkin's, you darn near doubled that!!!

            Now *that's* a metabolic advantage;-)

Additionally, in my experience, weight can fluctuate a great deal not only with different scales, but at different times of the day. As a general rule, I use the same scale, wearing about the same clothes, at the same time of day. I think the results are more consistent that way.
