  • Question for the Ladies...

Is it common/normal to see a significant change in the scale while menstruating?

I was wondering because, tomorrow will make exactly 4 weeks since I began this WOE, but my cycle is on and I am scared to death to do my normal weigh-in.
    Starting: 306lbs (3/27/10)
2 weeks on Induction before weighing again:
    Weigh-in: 293 (4/10/10)

    Milestones

    280lbs-
    260lbs-
    240lbs-
    220lbs-
    "ONEderland"-
    180lbs-
    160lbs-
    Goal!!! 140lbs-

Committed to staying the course because I'm worth it.

Very normal to experience that. I may go up as much as 5 lb. I usually stay away from the scale.

I have prety opposite I weight more before than during.... It's because 1 week before I am eating like a crazy... But during periods I am completly ignorant towards food..Just hardly have any appetite... So I quickly loose whatever is in me... and drink water...

I think it is though OK to have slight variations... (personal, non-professional opinion)

        Re: Question for the Ladies...

Just had this happen. For the week before my period started, I began gaining, never over 3 lbs, but the changes were slow. Once I started, I began losing a lb. per day, just like before.

            ROFL! That was funny!!!

As for me, now that I am in my mid-thirties...everything is about my cycle. Either I am on it or getting ready for it so I have like a week in there where I am safe to weigh so I am just done with weighing. Sheesh. I think measuring is just going to have to be my method of checking my progress! I do still step on the scale so I know how certain new foods affect me but I have to take it all in stride because my cycle puts me in a different 5lb range half of the month, oh and a different size too. Ugh! I hate it with a passion!!! Oh and don't even get me started on what my body does when I exercise hard or weight train. If I have sore muscles it's like a guaranteed extra 2-3lbs on the scale until it goes away, though drinking a gallon of water tends to help that...but then I have the other problem of living in the restroom!!!! OY!

Yes if you weigh during TOM and there is a significant difference, don't fret. It will pass within days after TOM is over. Keep up with your water intake.

I dont know, I've always had trouble the week after! I usually gain a pound or break even, no loss besides inches. Apparently, every body is different

There is a reason why they call it a kilt; it's what they did to the first person who called it a skirt!

Sorry, ladies, just having a little fun. I'll leave this thread alone from now on.
